  • Gaston, is that the plain white Columbus Air frame from off here? If so how did you track it down to be a "1982 Charlie Olga AIR TT"?

Charlie Olga is someone very close who'll normally born at the summer solstice.
Tester told me that it is almost impossible to find which build this framework
AIr is from 1980 and Colin the Bald told me it is max 1982 after it would be low pro.

    Love ; )

  • Another bike porn Gaston! It is fantastic...

Not necessarily, I had a conventional TT frame made in 1985, didn't get my Lo-Pro until 1991

  • Ok so I've been building a SSCX bike based on a Gazelle Cross Trophy, as you can see from the pictures the clearance are quite tight.... I'm currently running 32c tyres and I'd like to know what tyres any one else with this frame or similar run?

Also I've got froglegs on this and the rear is fine but the front is very tight! There is a set of Koolstop Thinline pads on route, are there any other tricks to get a good setup on an old frame with modern canti's?

  • there's absolutely no space for mud around the brakes and the clearances from the tire to the tubes are also close to zero. it's more a commuter than a crossbike!

  • Built my GT/Tiemyer team USA frame up. When I bought it it had all but the tt decal removed hence an improvised decal/sticker job. Parts used are mostly what I had laying around.

Drew up a custom faceplate in CAD for the stem (which I had bought sans faceplate anyway) and had that machined.

  • Nice work on the CAD. It needs anodising or spraying black I reckon..

Painting it in gloss might give it a better finish to match the stem.

  • Cleanup, new bartape, freewheel and a new set of Mavic rims.

Roamings - do you or anyone else know what seat post size this takes by any chance?

Cheers (looks good by the way).

Yeah I did plan spraying it black but I kinda like how it stands out now. Fits in with the polished components too.

  • Wow ! something to do with the seatpost but otherwise it's porn !!!

This is strange. A Cross Trophy is certainly not meant as a commuter and usually fits 35mm tyres in the larger frames.

Have you looked for signs of crash damage? Feel underneath the top of the downtube.

  • either that's been crashed badly, or those aren't the original forks

  • Wow ! something to do with the seatpost but otherwise it's porn !!!

Thanks Gaston. You're right it's a cheap seatpost but it's the only one I had the nerve to shorten :) I'm looking out for a short one with a more sophisticated clamp/head

  • TT bike is fucking mint Gaston.

  • That last page was immense

  • tubing size on the charlie olga is throwning me slightly

  • It's just the flat profile of the tubes.

  • New stem & bars, cromo jaguar with on-one fleegle

  • Fleegles make ace fixieskidder bars. I angled mine downwards though - just mimicking how the hand naturally sits.

  • Most risers have a degree of upwards and backwards sweep so I'd think it would be similar to that anyway

What width rim are you using? maybe a set of wide 29er wheels could sort this out?

  • Absolute porn Gaston!

  • It's brilliant, to be fair I'd expect nothing less!
