Just finished this bianchi! Frame is a mega x pro st (for steel, as it was also available in dedacciai aluminium).
It's a deda zéro HT frame, pretty light yet very stiff! Components are mainly da 7700 except for the ultegra cranks. -

Bit of progress with the Argos, got some different wheels as wasn't sure about using the old front I had (spokes were a bit brittle)... Been waiting for JB to post me some tyres for a few weeks, put these on in the meantime but found they didn't really clear the stays and found also that the new rear is out of true. Got the cranks on though, so now just new tyres, true wheel, cable up brakes and tape bars. Looking forward to getting it on the road/path...

Brake reach looks a bit marginal

This thread often has better looking bikes than the porn thread. Just an honest observation, carry on with all the nice builds

Especially when the pads start to wear in and likely to get closer to the tyres...

Pretty sure they're fine, long drop ain't they.

Shamal'd the Vig. Looks a bit front heavy, needs something deeper on the back.

Not to mention the position of the axle in the dropouts.

Looks like I'm late to the botched BB30 installation party.
That really, really sucks.
Howard's been through BB30 woes. Perhaps he'll chime-in.
Actually...I haven't. All mine have worked as well as to be expected. The CAADX had the standard FSA one replaced fairly quickly when it started to ping and pop, with a nice pair of token bearings which I think are still going strong despite a couple of cross season's best efforts - Laner has them now. They were stripped and rebuilt several times with no issues.
Bearings in the CAAD9 are from 2011 and still going strong.

What disc calipers are you going with?

BB30: In the process he chipped the smooth surface on one side of the frame where the bearings sit. They also went in slightly sideways at first. He got them out, fit the clips, and then reinstalled with a better tool, but damage had already been done to the bb area of the frame.
Got a photo? Did he put the same bearings back in that were hammered out? They would almost be certainly damaged in the process. Frame might not be toast, but yeah, you want that put right.

I didn't get that first time around but I see it now. Sorry, I wasn't meaning to wind you up.

Only thing winding me up is JB enjoying his bikes while I wait on him to enjoy mine...
Jk

Are you going to sneak some 'guards in there, or will they not fit? It's hard to tell from the photo but it looks like the dropout has been drilled and tapped.
-
• #93798
Yeah there is room for guards, it's got eyelets front and rear, just discreet ones.... going to put some guards and a rack on come winter. Too much effort to maintain running a geared commuter through winter.

Nothing exciting I'm afraid. Regular old BB7 mountain.
Operated by Tektro RL520 levers.
Gears will be either down-tube, bar-end, or SS. Haven't really decided yet.

Reliable mechanicals + DT shifters is exciting in my book. That said, it's a fairly dull read if you listen to the popular opinion :-)
He got 'em from me last year .. October (I think). And before you ask, I highly doubt he's about to sell them. :(
