Just got off the phone with another bike shop where I dropped off the bike for checks. They said my brand new CAAD10 frame is fucked due to the damage to the bottom bracket area, from the mechanics at the last place installing and removing it incorrectly. Oh well. Months of preparation and planning down the toilet. Now the process of asking them for cash for a new one...
sucks. Which shop? wanna know so I never go there

Thanks, gonna try ammonia first.
I had the same problem with the same frame a while back! Was worried because of the glued lugs, used a product by Ziebe (Forsch) called Black Magic, hung the frame upside down and sprayed it through the bottom bracket shell and water bottle holes on and off for 3 days letting it soak, it came out nice and easy without damaging the frame at all (: I bought a carbon post the next day

A lfgss embargo till it's sorted in a manner satisfactory for Chris?
An old for new* replacement on the frame should be a basic requirement.
edit: * Doh, new for old

Goodridge make M8 to M6 hose connector adaptors, screw it directly into the new (90mm I reckon) banjo
Thank you, but I'm afraid, you have to be a bit more specific.
I can't even imagine how the banjo/adaptor is supposed to look.
Currently there's a m8 male thread on the hose. -

^what model of brake is it? Do you want the hose to come straight out of the lever or at 90 degrees? Is it a direct fit Shimano, or does it connect like Hope's? (the Hope one's are piss easy to do)

it's a formula rx. I want it to come out at 90 degrees.
thanks for helping. -

Oh thanks, sounds promising. Is this a penetrating oil or something more sophisticated? Nice build btw, I'm planning on a carbon fork and seatpost too.

A friend's aluminium seatpost was stuck in his carbon PX, the only people who could get it out were Mosquito bikes with their mysterious "pulley system".

I really like the silver cranks/black chainring combo. Have you considered compact drops? I always like how they look on old steel frames and are very comfortable
Thanks, not every one seems to like it!
I do have 26mm compacts and do like riding them, but they are on my Surly for now.
-
• #93761
Ride it and trash it instead.
Why not get a carbon fork so you can run brake?
Whats your obsession with getting me to have a brake?! I got one on my Surly so you should be happy.
-
• #93762
None, just that you said you really enjoyed riding it, carbon fork make a nice difference and brake mount for club ride.
-
• #93763
Got the Surly for that now, wont be swapping Vivalo fork unless i have to, then it would be another track fork

^ Perfect.
MA40 rims? Nice. Traditional drops like the FSA Energy bar would look great, too.

Bought the frame brand new. It's a shame. The owner of the shop is being very helpful. Don't really want to name and shame. They should probably get rid of this guy though. Total joker.

Replace with new CAAD10 frameset, job done.
-
• #93767
Hopefully that's what'll happen. 2014 all black though. Bit boring. Fuck it, it's a racing bike and will look and ride amazing anyway. Just get the BB30 installed correctly this time, and then get on with riding it. In a sorry state, sans-crankset, with the Pug:

The two bike look like they're completely different size, I assumed it's just down to the tubing diameter?
-
• #93769
Saddle and bars look at the same height based on the wall, but that peugeot does look a lot bigger. Might be due to it having cranks on as well as tubing diameter?
-
• #93770
Are those 1inmch Alpina track forks? Where did you find those?!
-
• #93771
I don't think there isn't one of your bike I wouldn't like to own Gaston!
Top job as usual! Will you be organising a exhibition soon? -

thank's and yes someday... ; )

Think the Peugeot is 62 seat tube, 60 top tube, with a 100mm stem, 42cm bars.
Cannondale (size 60) is 58 seat tube, with a 59 top tube, and 120mm stem, 44cm bars.
Shorter head tube too on the CAAD maybe. They both fit well. Pug could do with 44cm bars and a slightly longer stem, but I'm not fussed.

shallow drop and short reach bar too, make sense, slightly more aggressive position.
-
• #93775
I think the bar drop and reach is very similar. I chose the FSA bars because I liked the shape of the Cinelli Criterium. They're both traditional drop. Will get the specs...
145 / 80 for the FSA
144 / 82.5 for the Cinelli
