CAAD10 built. All day in the bike kitchen. Eventual success. First geared bike put together myself. Still needs a few little tweaks and additions. Have only ridden it from Hoxton to Homerton, carrying 2 bags full of stuff and wearing hiking shoes, but she feels just right, size wise. 60cm with a 12cm stem for 6ft4. Could probably even try a layback post. Two bad photos for now. Some nice ones on Sunday maybe. Koobi PRS saddle is rad, purple Salsa seat collar is staying, silver post and black stem are perfect, and I put some older shiny XTR mountain bike quick releases on. Still love it.

Silver saddle clamp would look better if you're keeping the silver seatpost.
That saddle looks jank
Acetone the stripe from the stem, maybe.

Looks like fun.

Ha yeah. Gotta give it a proper test ride. Nope, nope, nope. Collar is the best part.

Congrats. That looks good.
...so thank you.
You're welcome. It's not happening again though.

I did similar with my new Ksyriums two years ago. That decision came back to bite me on a 90°F solo ride 4,000 feet up in the Angeles National Forest, a two-mile walk from the nearest Ranger station.
Old skewers are for wall-hangers. -

Old skewers are for wall-hangers.What was the failure mode? Better tell Lennard Zinn, he loves that stuff.

Old, as in not the newest version shaped like an ugly "X". Not that old.

Getting XTR skewers to fail is impressive, however old. I'm using old Mavic internal cam too and they're brilliant

I had my Ergonovas set at same angle for my old mash bolt (sigh miss that bike) and was very comfortable bars.
But that was lever-less, trying them on a geared bike that was about the best position I could find too, they look a bit funny much of anywhere else.
-

..tilt the bars back and (if needed) put on a shorter stem. Same for mattyc.
This..
Looks like you are all mounting your levers too far up your bars. Lower your levers for flat transition and rotate your bars ups. Bottom of the drops don't need be horizontal. If you can't reach the drops then.. Shorter stem.

^ Interestingly though, the measurements of reach and drop 3T give for the Ergonova are only right if the bar is in lower position, tilt them up like you're suggesting and the figures are much more...
I don't think they're meant to be your typical 'compact' bar with level tops-to-hoods, but rather to put the levers lower, so you can rest your wrists/lower-arms on the tops while your hands are on the hoods, for an additional comfortable long distance position which more traditional bars also give.

I'm in the downward sloping tops camp. Flat transitions aren't the be all and end all, compact drops are more comfy if the end of the drop approaches horizontal

Can we just all agree that Ergonovas are shit?
Zero100 or nothing

Nah, I want a Fizik Bull (possibly Chameleon) R3 46cm bar for up coming build!

First ride on my Cannondale went well - really quick bike, very aggressive geometry compared to what I'm used to. I felt very low and long, but not in a bad way.
The wheels, however, need switching out for something wider as soon as possible. I've only ever ridden 23mm rims on a road bike and I really don't like how these wheels feel...

I must be the only person in the world not to be wowed by wide rims..

but the internet said they're better!

Dan do you not like your archetypes? I just don't want to run 110psi to avoid pinch flats. Bloody uncomfortable it is, too.

When I had them I ran 80 rear 70 front on GP4000s 23c. When I had HED belgiums I ran 60 on Rivendell Ruffy Tuffy's 28c and they were soooo nice to ride.
