^^ I bought it from this very forum a year ago. It arrived in a worse condition than I'd expected but I didn't make much of an issue of it other than questioning the classic clamp crack which he claimed was like that when he got it (the first time I'd known it was second hand) as it was ridable and seemed solid structurally.
Basically, I should have kicked up more of a fuss, no, I can't ask Dolan to fix it really, yes I was a bit of a mug.

Weak trolling again Apollo. This is becoming a theme.
no, shorter reach bars wouldn't make it look like that

yes

Ok, I will explain it slowly for you.
It is about having the right angle for the drops, and the right angle for the hoods, rather than how smooth the transition between the hoods and tops of the bars are. -

It is about having the right angle for the drops
but they're not at the right angle...
mattyc's setup is more correct IMO
Thanks for trying to explain it slowly though, I can picture you typing that at half speed.

Sure it's not about wanting to keep a $tem that's a bit too long?

oh no. miro_o actually said it.

And if you actually read what he had written, you would have found out he MattyC agrees with me, and that picture isn't of his bike, in fact he found the same thing as me when setting up his bike.
'...which is why with Ergonova's you can't have the top level with the floor...'
^ these are 42cm ergonova pro... tops look level with the floor and the drop angle look right... can't get mine to do the same thing though, as has been described above if I have the tops horizontal the drops point at the floor... the drop look longer than mine in the photo above - did they change the length at some poin?
See, his levers are also on top of the curve, they are slightly lower than mine, but similar.

Just picked this up, took the crankset off and noticed some rub to the chainstay. It doesn't seem to be too deep and it was being ridden (with a triple (!) hence the damage), plus a snap there isn't going to be as potentially fatal as a snap in the forks.
I know the paint/enamel is pretty thick on these, so I'm not worried about the myriad other scratches. This is definitely through-to-crabon though, which concerns me.
Advise me. What should I do? Hang it on the wall, or build it up with the 7400 group I have lying about and ride it a couple of days a year?

^^ It's not a dig sumo. I couldn't give a monkeys, just trying to cut through the BS.
I don't understand why you don't tilt the bars back and (if needed) put on a shorter stem. Same for mattyc. You don't have an answer for that so I'm left guessing it's just down to rookie error.
-
• #93570
Tilting the bars back alters the angle of the drops
-
• #93571
or you could keep ignoring what I have previously said and continue being patronising
-
• #93572
^^ of course it does. If the angle's wrong then you've got the wrong bars.
It's hard not to sound patronise, I'm just explaining basic shit.

It's hard not to patronise you if I'm honest.
Which is why I now have a pair of RHM02's to swap them with, as to keep the drops at a good angle, you have to have the hoods in that position.
Which means you have just confirmed my very initial point, so thank you. -
