except for maybe the large chunk of leccy tape?

I've been meaning to get hold of some large diameter heatshrink to finish off the ends on my bars. When all the edges of finishing tape don't line up (or worse crinkle) it makes me feel a bit ill.

Installed a nitto pearl and rewrapped the handlebars with maroon cotton tape. Nearing completion now, only a couple of things I still want to change. Any constructive criticisms?

When your tyres wear out, buy something more tasteful (little or no logos) like Vittoria Diamante Pro or something.
When the tape gets dirty, replace it with black Cinelli Caleido.
Other than that, you're golden imo. -

Not much of a project but I am picking this up this evening

So road this home and I am thoroughly impressed. The frame has 1 tiny scratch and a couple of minuscule nicks on the tops of the cable guides. There's not even a scratch on the underside of the bottom bracket. The wheels are original from 92ish and barely even look used. The shifting is instant and silent, even on the front derailleur, I actually had to look down and check it had shifted as I couldn't hear or feel anything. I road home along Green Lanes which has a terrible road surface and I barely felt a bump. I have now rotated the bars down and lifted the levers and will change the tyres soon.

Lol ^ Your shock on a front derailleur that shifts properly #SRAMproblems
(I prefer SRAM)

looks nice
how does it ride ?
Agree with dicki, this is super. What bars are those?
I always forget to look back at this thread after I post. It's really fun, nippy, pretty stiff, could do with a better back wheel in time, and a slightly longer post, but great for the moment. I haven't done MTBing in years, but am really getting more into it every time I go. I'll have to go seek out trails further afield soon.
The bars are on-one Marys. I love them. The only flat bars I ever ride are swept back, so straight bars and risers feel weird to me now.

The front shifting on my Sram works perfectly, but you really know about it when it shifts.
