Just need to get the wheels built up, New carbon fork installed and I'll be almost there!

  • Why not get raceblades?

Although the TCX has eye lit's it's an absolute nightmare to fit mudguards.

I bought some raceblades but after 5 minutes it was soon evident it wasn't worth the effort! I always new it wasn't going to fit mudguards, think I was just being a bit optimistic!

    Le Trolle....

  • Should be great. Why not proper pedals though, it's too nice as a lock-up/runaround bike?

  • I had raceblades on my road bike for approximately 0.5 miles. The long extension of the front guard fell off after. Suffice to say I took them off after ad didn't bother. They are quite pricey, would probably not buy again.

  • Le Trolle....

    ?

  • My raceblade longs shed both mudflaps within 2,000km. I guess gluing the plastic screws might have worked but yeah, they (like all temporary guards) are a bit shit.

    NJS elitest bull

Not TM really as his pana had plastic wheels but I'm looking forward to seeing this build - lovely paint

Carbon fork on njs frame.... Shits cray

  • Sorry I thought you were winding. What forks?

Once you have deviated once from full NJS, you might as well use proper modern components all around and actually enjoy your bike for riding, rather than displaying.

Nope! Don't want to drill the forks and I think clamp on brakes look horrific, got these NOS mizuno's coming:

  • Those are nice! I've got a same forks that was thinking to use on a Rourke, but I like the way it is at the moment, not sure if I want to change anything.

Edit: Not 100% same, mine has carbon steerer.

Top is my mates, bottom is mine

  • I've just got the same forks as well, but the only bike they'll fit on is my orange Donohue so I'm not sure what to do with them quite yet.

  • If you don't use them I'd be interest if you end up moving them on.

  • Mine will be too short for you Indra, they just fit the Rourke.

  • Mine might be too, there's about 230mm steerer I think, which I was surprised was too short for my road bike too, not that it needs them.

They're really nice forks too, the straight blade means they do work alright on tarck builds I think.

I was just translating, I find full njs builds boring

  • I think I've only seem one full NJS build, the guy who rode it at Intermediates at HHV on Saturdays (and may still do).

Apart from that, they normally deviate on tyres, sprockets or bars - I'm with Fahrgestell and tester, you may as well just make it a nice frame with parts that are good and practical to ride.

  • Browsing a local ads site I came across a ec90 38mm carbon clincher for a song.

Someone please tell me I'm mental considering buying it, destickering and sticking it on this

  • do it

Have you got a full frontal bike shot? interested to see the rake!
