Very excited about my new project:
This is the vendor's photo, its a Peka frame with campag headset and bb with a Dura Ace 7500 crankset. I don't have the bike yet, its still at my mates house in Amsterdam waiting for me to pick it up. I've heard good things about this brand, if anyone can offer any insight im all ears.
This from Velobase is probably what you've seen already. They look like very tidy frames and yours looks great. The wheelset looks good too, what are the hubs?
What are you plans for the project?

Ah, you bought that Peka!
Famous Peka Peka:

Is that more modern than it looks, or are they some pretty early examples of compact handlebars?

I thought you might have seen it before! I saw it advertised for ages, contacted the seller but got no response then saw it for sale for €650 but I didn't pay anywhere near that price
Front wheel is a Miche hub and Ambrosio rim, rear is a Normandy hub and a Mavic, both tubs. But I didn't get the wheels, just frame set and cranks so the project is to build it up and i'd like to keep it as period correct as I can.
Don't know if the paint is original, looking forward to having a closer look.

These decals are really nice, but unless they're still going I suppose it will be difficult to source any:

I was thinking about making them. The font is simple but maybe someone on here can help with the printing. I think bikes look better with decals.

looks like a laugh, but not for £600

The font is simple.
What is it?

Looks like helvetica with a bit of horizontal scaling. The Dutch know how to make simple things look good

'PEKA' is no way Helvetica.
The vertical type might be.

Changing the handlebars on a bike you regularly change the handlebars on, and which you already have a whole thread dedicated to, does not constitute a 'current project'.

Just this so far:
Just a thought...
I know RIH are no longer building but they still seem to have a shop. There might be someone there who knows about Pekas, or who can cast a little light.

would it qualify if i mentioned that im considering using njs forks to drop and tighten up the front end?

^^ I though the same. Reading up, it appears that the same frame builders from Peka also built for Presto. Could be what the P is for.

So, I got a cheap Rock Hopper Tig Team SL on Ebay a while back, and am hopefully going to build it up this weekend. The paint's really ratty, but nothing too major, apart from this. Is it worth spraying over with a rattlecan to prevent corrosion (just on this stay)?
The way aluminium works, is that a thin oxidised layer will form. (Whitish colour) this is hard & durable and protects from any further corrosion, as good a powder coat. Just stops right there.

^^ You never know if you have a nose around when you're out there. You might find some original decals.
