My orlowski was gonna have the new wheels on today but the lbs hasn't finished them yet, shoulda done it myself.
-
• #90754
You know the mudguard is supposed to be horizontal and just above the wheel, non?
-
• #90755
it looks like a stinger like you would find on a baja bug.

This afternoon, received new Orlowski lopro.
Dissambled my current Lee Cooper (with help of my bro, thank you).Sorry for shitty pics, not ideal weather for taking photos.
And don't mind silver spacer and mudguard :)Before:

Needs a layback.

Orlowski is very nice. If you need to run a guard, a raceblade would be much better looking.
-
• #90758
I don't need to run guard all the time, just when it's raining. And the one I got is rolleable so got it with me all the time - and very happy with it.
And don't really care about aestetic of mudguard.
But thanks for advice!

I think it is 'the mudguard working very well' more than 'the aesthetics of the mudguard' that Morgan was talking about.

And I think Dragunov was responding to George.

Defiant no on a layback. Mudguard is awesome wish i had ordered one:(.

That's a massive amount of layback you got there, 40mm?
Check your cleat position if it's not too far forward that cause you to shift back a lots more, putting the cleat at least a cm behind this spot is a good start;
And sell me the frame after you're done with it, it's a perfect fit for me.

Lots of setback on the post, but then the saddle is quite forward in the clamp. I'd guess the actual saddle setback behind the BB is no more than mine. Long femurs are all the explanation that needs, no reason to question the cleat position.

I still don't get how the length of thigh relates to saddle set-back, but the length of your foot doesn't...
-
• #90766
It does. Who said it doesn't? However, the absolute variation in foot length is quite small compared with the absolute variation in femoral length, especially as the bit of the foot concerned is only from ankle to the front of the metatarsus, so toe length is ignored.

Yeah, DIY bike fit is kinda frustrating.
The old crap of knee over the pedal axle makes no sense, especially if you got long feet, but yet I haven't come across a fit guide yet that shows where the pedal should be in relation to thigh and foot that makes much sense.

Human bodies are remarkably adaptable, for all the prescriptive fitting rules it turns out people can ride in a lot of different ways and get used to it without seriously affecting efficiency. There are some extremes which will definitely injure you, but that still provides a pretty big envelope. KOPS isn't wrong, it's just not the only thing that's right.

Huh, got halfway through the article on Sheldon's site on KOPS before I realised I'd already read it.
^ But that does make sense.

I ride 45 Dominators with SPDs and a while back moved my cleats back a bit, not as far back as Ed suggests though.
When I had an inline post it was right on the limit of the rails, a post with a bit less layback might actually be ok. I've got a couple I can try...It seems to work for me as is, I think the switching crank lengths is what's making it feel odd. As I said, riding it all the time when I was in Otley felt fine, it's only since switching back to fixed commuting after moving to York which has made it feel strange.

Might experiment with clear position anyway though, I know I need to rotate my right one as my knee is playing up again.

Very excited about my new project:
This is the vendor's photo, its a Peka frame with campag headset and bb with a Dura Ace 7500 crankset. I don't have the bike yet, its still at my mates house in Amsterdam waiting for me to pick it up. I've heard good things about this brand, if anyone can offer any insight im all ears.

So, I got a cheap Rock Hopper Tig Team SL on Ebay a while back, and am hopefully going to build it up this weekend. The paint's really ratty, but nothing too major, apart from this. Is it worth spraying over with a rattlecan to prevent corrosion (just on this stay)?
Is it aluminium? Wouldn't worry, just wrap it in inner tube

^^ Looks tidy, any clearer photos of the lug detailing?
