got this tig'd for free, quite lumpy ,as had split clean through tube above weld, have rasped somewhat, but will get a better finish then powder coat

would re decal , but cost prohibitive relative to the whole build, may just try to get vinyl cut , powder coat the frame, either black, olive green or try to match original on ral

I need to work out if the history hinted at in the advert... ...there were more questions and hints than answers...
Quite. There was a link, I'm sure, on the sales thread to an original brochure with a promotional quote from Moser, which hints at a connection...

Yes. I saved it but also it is still up on the thread. It seems this mike might have come out of Moser's own shed in Italy 20 years ago. Why bright pink though?
The front mechs on these have to have a special mount to fit the thin drive side seat tube. The one on mine looks original and it is a 4 hole Campag Record which seem to have only been made in 1978 so that is probably indicative of a 1978 / 79 build date.

My cannondale 2.8 R400. I initially built it with da 7700 parts but switched them for another frame so now it's a bit more old school. I'm really struggling with the idea that removing the paint and polish it up could be cool... should I or not?

Bit of googling... Croix de Fer forks are 387mm a2c, trucker 700 disc is 390mm. Think they are both 45mm rake. Disc equilibrium are 375mm apparently so would be more likely to mess up your geo...
If you're not talking about the Croix de Fer feel free to ignore all this rubbish.
There are 2 versions of the disc trucker fork:
26" disc trucker fork Axle-to-crown: 376mm Rake: 45mm
700c disc trucker fork Axle-to-crown: 390mm Rake: 45mmhttp://surlybikes.com/parts/forks/disc_trucker_fork
ignore the name, the 26" works fine with 700c wheels and has a clerance of about 355mm (x 60mm wide at the top) so there is room for 35mm tires. The main drawback is it is pretty heavy: about 1.1 kg.

^^^ I thought that was an ambulance.
-
• #88044
^^ are you suggesting him to use the 26" fork instead of the 700c?
-
• #88045
yes,it is an option.
I have one and with a halo aerowarrior 700c rim there is about 39mm clearance for a tire

Near Stockholm...
I need to work out if the history hinted at in the advert (and I am not suggesting anybody was less than straightforward just that there were more questions and hints than answers) is correct.
If it was used in competition in pink as a Moser / by Moser then it will go back as close to period as I can. I've got quite a bit of 70 / early 80s Campag.
If not I guess it will be a Rigi - probably chrome lugs and a repaint. Maybe try for some high end non-Campag kit perhaps Ofmega etc.
So all depends on the outcome of research.
