  • Is your whole house tilting? the bag is hanging to the right....

Obviously, it's tied up to the wall..

  • No way that's the same big apple I sold you in the summer?

anyone know what headset this is and if there's a similar Campagnolo one with 1-2mm lower stack height?
I don't know what it is, but it looks very much like the Campag threaded HS introduced in 1997 and still in production.

Variously available in Record, Chorus and Athena flavours, but only Record now.

    No idea about stack height.

  • That's lovely Gaston!

I finished my commuter, not as nice as yours, but absolutely loving it.

Big fan of this. I reckon a flite would fit in nicely.

  • Has Ed revoked your T-Rex membership yet?

  • B0N0R that is how to winter bike!

  • 650c size sucks, but got a nice wheelset as a present and need to fit it somehow in the 26" MTB, which means it needs wider tyres then 1"... any suggestion/ hidden production of old schwinns, a pair in the basemant or similiar?

Regarding the fonds for this the hilarious Carrier Trade Butcher Tire seems kind of interesting ;)

EDIT: wheels are mavic CXP 14 laced on 105 hubs, seems like i got lucky googling - 54 on the front , and 47 on the back?

  • Ditch the rims and re-build with a useful size.

  • That being said, here is an option for a wide-ish but high pressure tire.

  • Hi gabby. In the begginning it was a project ( like kiss kiss bank bank ) for a vintage mtb deluxe.
Then the project was failed by diverses raisons.
Then again, a conglomerat of french people came into that topic to make something interesting.
It as 20 000 views, so it is something very famous now. You can say n'importe what into dixit the greatest Shaman Gaston.
The biggest french egos are là-bas!
    Why AMHA?

Go read pignonfixe.com : at the beggining we were 2 people abusing of that logorée. Now there, everybody use that. It is our little Pavlov experiement.

Thanks man, cleared that up for me

  • Popped some Easton EC90SL forks on the LOOK. It's also got carbon Centaur cranks and Eurus / Racing 3 wheels since it was last on here. Just need a -17º stem with 26mm clamp now, along with a steerer trim of course.

Now I've gone threadless, and retired the spaghetti-style original carbon / steel steerer forks, the handling is almost exactly the same, seems the rake is identical. The front end doesn't bounce around when I sprint either, is that a thing?

I'll be racing at Hog Hill at 1pm today, say hello if you're around.

  • I'm just building my All City Big Block, but the brake doesn't seem to have enough reach. Do they need long drop brakes?

  • thrown together, still lots of things to fine tune

  • winner winner

  • ^^ That is stunning!!!

  • maximum points for getting the tour edition cranks to match the decals

  • I'm just building my All City Big Block, but the brake doesn't seem to have enough reach. Do they need long drop brakes?

I have a Shimano BR-R650 on mine. Pads are down near the bottom of the reach (57mm max).

  • Awesome negaatio. I need those cranks.

I have a pair of carbon Navigator wheels, which I can't see myself getting a lot more track use out of, but I don't really want to sell them at a loss. The front is already a road wheel with a hex skewer, but the rear is a track with a suicide hub.

I am thinking about getting the rear rebuilt with a road hub and using them as a flash looking road wheelset with a view to maybe racing in summer if I have time.

What is a good value 24-hole rear hub for Shimano, and how much is the hub + rebuild + spokes likely to set me back? I can't find anywhere with a proper stock of Novatec hubs, and the Planet X ones seem pretty pricey.

  • New wheels for my Enigma. Not sure what's happened to the saddle angle - it feels fine but looks awful. Might tweek the saddle and shifter angles this evening before tomorrow's ride.

  • the Planet X ones seem pretty pricey.

£59.99 is probably about as cheap as you'll find a 24h rear road hub unless you buy Novatec from Taiwan and take a punt on whether you get charged import taxes. Rebuild with DT Comps is likely to be around £40-£60 depending on which shop you go to, and how much of the work you do yourself. If you take the wheel apart and lace it yourself, you'll save some money and learn the first stage of rolling your own, though I wouldn't recommend tensioning a 24h carbon wheel as your first build.

  • orlowski is great, but rear cable needs to be sorted/fixed

Kinoko should have some Novatecs, or should be able to get you some.

Bit of a mess now, saddle and shifter angles for sure need tweeking, also I'd desticker the wheel if I were you and if it's possible with those wheels, Bike is a bit of a screamer right now (also Sram and Dura Ace hehe)

  • thrown together, still lots of things to fine tune

    Sweeet!
