chodey limp dick tbh
Lol. I know, i just like having it like this on the everyday use. The Zen dose match the Zonda's but maybe to much shine?

oh of course i remember now! one of my faves!
but, like the actual functionality of the gears, are they necessary

I can't help but think longer stem? or the frame is to long?

I really should get around to building a geared bike, not sure what I'd sell to fund/make room for it though.

• #87232
Yeah but Indra i'm thinking is there any point to a geared bike, is there anything you can do on one that you can't do fixed, and have more fun at the same time

^^ go up ditchling and define 'fun'

I <3 ditchling, only ever done it fixed.
cycle further and faster?
This is the main reason I want one.

Sometimes I lack the motivation to go and do miles fixed, I also want to go on some fast rides where most people are geared and fixed wouldn't really agree with the pace.

Yes they are obvious things like be a bit faster and more capable of longer rides, and tbh those guys probably are not even on this forum.
but for the average guy, its all doable fixed and more fun as well.

• #87240
doable /= enjoyable

• #87241
'more fun as well' = personal opinion.
There is no magic bullet when it comes to bikes. Just ride what you like and stop worrying about the rest.

45/17-38c

yeah there's the other thing, trying to ride with local roadies, i'm constantly out pacing them on climbs, recovering on flats and struggling to keep up as i'm out of breath, the decents i usually lose them or back down as i know i may not stop in time.
but enjoyable? this is why i brung this up...

Which beautifully allows the existence of n+1

I can't do gears, I'm incapeable. lots of coasting, crunching noises and looking down at the derailer wondering how the hell I get it to work how its supposed to.

This is exactly why a road bike would be good.
how was the rest of the ride?
Good fun, not as fast as usual but still not too slow, was taking some guys on fixed that hadn't done a ride that big before.I can't do gears, I'm incapeable. lots of coasting, crunching noises and looking down at the derailer wondering how the hell I get it to work how its supposed to.
Me neither but I'm sure I'd get used to it.

i think most of the guys in this forum aren't pros.
