  • more, more!

  • more, more!

    So much this.
    Stop teasing!

  • pink porn!

  • Reminds me of...

  • Why duct tape and bin liners? Because that's what I have lying around my house.

    @Psee, that looks nice.

Edit- I am biased though, it looks like my bikes Polish Cousin:

  • Porn! Needs it's own thread

  • My jaw dropped, literally.

  • holy fucking shit, real talk!

  • The RadioactiveSalmon™ paint looks brilliant.

  • Self amalgamating silicone tape would be best, no adhesive at all and it forms a nice rubber sleeve over whatever you wrap in it.

Probably going to go get some of this magical stuff today from Maplins.
    Commute today was fucking fun.

  • Something I have been working on for way to long now. It is a Concorde Squadra frame built from Columbus Ego tubing. I built it up with a Campa Record Titanium groupset. I just need some proper wheels to finish it.

    Beast, like it!

  • Probably going to go get some of this magical stuff today from Maplins.
    Commute today was fucking fun.

    How long/short is the commute?

Had a go on a fat bike a few weeks ago, actually required much less effort to achieve forward motion than I was expecting...

  • My current one is ~5 miles, and I'm sad that its been shortened from the ~20 that I used to have- though I don't think I'd take the fat bike for that one.
Usually have to go between various hospital sites during the day, so that adds a bit of distance.

It is very easy to ride indeed. And surprisingly rapid/ responsive.

    Get one.

  • I've been watching the snow line as it works its way down the mountains. Agonisingly slowly. Today I broke. Its wet and mild out. But I wired up some lights to the Fatbike and commuted on it. Could'nt really push it. The studs need bedding in. Plus I need to shave a little off the driveside crank end.

......But it was proper fun. The rumbling of the 5" tyres, and the low chatter of the carbide studs made it sound like a little JCB. Brum brum. The bars, fit, and handling work perfectly. Definitly comfort and stability focused. But you can still throw it around some.

Gets too much attention though. I'm too old to have kids shouting 'serious man, cool bike' at me, from bus stops.

  • I've said it before- I'm really jealous of where you live SF.

The attention is a big issue for me too, I live in a fairly rough part.

  • It pissed me off a bit that the fat bike I tested out was a few pounds lighter than my hardtail...

You commuting on or off road eyebrows?

  • I can add a bit of off-road in, but its usually on-road sadly + I'm usually in my work clothes- need to work on a mudguard solution today.
It'll get chucked around off roads on random weekends through winter/ random early mornings.

  • Mudguard solution for a fat bike... Twin crud catchers?

  • Big piece of plastic sheeting I think...

  • You could make a ghetto crud catcher by chopping a bucket or particularly large bottle in half and ziptie to frame

  • Quite honestly the climate sucks.

I have the PBW mudguards ready to fit (needed them today, but did'nt have time). They are an awesome solution. Especially if you want the bike for off-road stuff. I hate full guards offroad. They are basically a super-sized versoin of the crudcatcher/ seatpost mount combo you get on loads of hardtails. Easy to remove, light, and cheap.

Charlie the bike monger had them.

  • Some pretty nice solutions out there

  • If you cant get hold of the Portland bicycle works ones. SKS do a DH combo that'll cover a 4" tyre. Called dad and mom.

  • This, or GTFO because you're failing at being fat.
