i'm happy overall -

Nice bike Saarf!
Thats one of the big reason i like carbon rims. A black that dont wear..
-
• #84229
thank you
but, they are shite in wet, weather is so inclement here, my mate was out on his impec with lightweights and punctured once it started raining
seen some zipp 303's with alu surface which i'd like for inclement on the c40, and get crabon rims for bone dry on the c50
these guys got a good deal on lightweights

(bitches be bitchin'now)Dont c what punctures has to do with it but yeah the brakeing isent great but one get use to it pretty quick imo (not great for emergency breaking tho..)
3400 gbp can hardly be called a great deal on any bicycle wheels imo. Perhaps you looked at the price for a single wheel ?
-
• #84232
compared to prices i saw else where they were cheaper
-
• #84233
Without knowing exact conversion rates i would guess these are a few hundred gbp cheaper.

i doubt i'd get them though, would like 404 firecrests tbh they seem to be around 2200 euros at best I can find

I'm weary of carbon rims with internal spokes.
Don't know why my mate had such a high frequency with punctures, i said must be his fault, but did happen -
• #84236
Don't brake or don't ride in wet...simples! Ha! :)

mines built to ride all weather

Agreed. I'm doing the SPNK thing on the Cosmic Pro me thinks.
No you're not. It won't fit any Mavic hub.

Must be his fault. Did Eindhoven - Madrid on carbon clinchers with internal nipples. Though I broke one of the rims I never had a puncture!
-
• #84240
Only downside with internal nipples that i can think of is that you have to remove and reglue tubulars in case of wheel going out of true.
Got nothing to do with punctures.

Definitely true.

my ''prose'' mislead you, sorry,I didn't puntuate my sentence, didn't mean they did cause puncture,
my reasoning re rims is that the internal spokes can split them, zipps don't -

Updated the track bike today, headed to the track, closed for some wanky concert or a conference or something completely shit and un bike related. WAC.

New stem, bars and tape, front wheel borrowed off a mate

On the money as usual, tape could do with a touch of teal though....

I picked up this frameset from Matt (Fahrgestell, cheers mate) last night and started building it up with some bits from the parts bin. I've got either a striped SLR or a white rolls to go on it. I've got some miche cranks and a omnomom chainring somewhere but I think the thread has gone on one of the miche arms so i'd struggle removing them, don't want to put them on this anyway really.
So I'm missing a 27.2 post and some crank arms. I'd like some black 75's but i'm skint until next payday now.
Below average photo because its cold, wet and dark outside and I have nowhere big enough to get a good photo inside.

Cheers TM...Find me some!
Was just pissed it was all for nothing.. Until next Tuesday that is!
-
• #84247
Have seen some, somewhere, with blue/white/teal splashes... Will try track it down.
Love that Cougar dry.
-
• #84248
Was just about to say that. Also took me a moment to work out how it was being supported!

Love that Cougar.
Yeah. Awesome frame.

Its a real nice frame, very light too. The paint is so much brighter than it looks in any photos, i'll try get some pictures that show off how good it is later in the week.
I'm not feeling the rims and tyres on that. Black rim, tanwall would make that much more coherent.
