  • ^ Noice: more details on the disc please.

  • Gotten sick of having this frame sat in the corner looking glum while I try to work out just how on earth to build it up into some coherent fantastic whole, so I'm gonna give it a best effort to actually see if it's worth it all this weekend and put together a parts-bin special to roll out on Monday morning.

Gonna try it with a TA Alize crankset first I think, and if that doesnt work out so well a Stronglight track 2000 should hopefully do the trick. Maybe change that seatpost, can't stand it. Possibly change for a bar-stem that are wrapped.

  • Literally make it using this link

Need too find a glue that actually melts plastic as the glue I use was good but melting it would be better. Also the plastic I used was a little thick so thinner plastic is needed. None the less I think it looks super cool!

  • ^^ that's a lovely frame you got there! I like the wheels as well(:

  • Damn. Ovalised neon fades just make me happy.

The tyres would bug me but otherwise it's all ok.

  • oh i got matching pink vredestein fortezza tricomps for the finished thing, they'll be much nicer

  • Nice!!!

  • Nice!!!

  • Just put this together for my sister's birthday next week. I had forgotten a) how small bikes are for people her size and b) how pretty shimano 600 arabesque bits are

  • Various tweaks to be done when I can be bothered like finding a chrome bottle cage, sorting out the brake cable outers etc...

  • naice

  • Not sure where else to put this but, any one got a friends/family in usa that would be willing to send a frame over to the uk by any chance? Need to know asap, within the next 17 hours preferably

    Thanks

  • New drivetrain today, which should provide a bit more stiffness and has also improved the chainline. Jauntily angled brake is just for getting to and from the track, which I hopefully won't have to do any more - which is good, because shortly after I took this photo, I heard the unmistakeble hissing sound letting me know that, after less than 10 miles of road riding on this bike, I have a punctured rear tub to go with the Pit Stop-repaired front.

Huge thanks to sumo for picking me up some Pit Stop and short notice on the way to the Nocturne.

    Enjoy the reflecto-porn.

  • ...Enjoy the reflecto-porn.
The guy in the suit seems to be, er... enjoying it.

Are you buying something from the US but the seller won't post to the UK ?

If so there are companies you can deliver stuff to who will then post to the uk.

  • Couldn't resist putting some bits on this. Annoyingly, the crown race is Italian (supposed to be a Roberts, so this is odd...) so I'm going to get it reamed. Does anyone know if Vaz can handle things like this? Would save me some trouble as he's very local.
Can't be arsed getting an Italian headset, and none of mine fit.
Bottom Bracket (Italian) is in the post, then it'll be all lovely and dura acey with white finishing.
Somehow ended up with a trio of red frames as well.

  • Just wish that Nickson was a bit smaller!

  • Chesini Arena Precision 83

Columbus SL tubing, Campagnolo Super Record and pantographed Chesini parts, Mavic SSC rims with Campy Record hubs.

Bought this bike yesterday. It had been sitting unused in a garage for years. Apparently it was custom built for the original owner, which could be the reason why it's lacking the main Chesini decals. Pretty much everything seem to be original except for the pedals.

I haven't been this excited about anything in a long time!

  • New bike. Got bored of waiting to find a cheap 29'' front wheel, so built it up with bits off my Ragley and parts bin. This is the resulting monstrosity.

It's one of the few remaining uncracked 2006 Gary Fisher Rigs, with the forks off of a Carrera Subway with DH size rotors, a 60mm stem and 740mm bars. The front end is twitchy to say the least, and the BB is lower than a Essex girl's standards on a Friday night. It is, however, incredibly fun to ride.

Looking forward to shocking a few middle aged IT managers at Swinley Forest.

  • Frankenbikes thread >>!

  • Just wish that Nickson was a bit smaller!

    I was just thinking that!

  • My caad9 has had a summer spruce up. I stuck a 2013 force group on it and some 3t bits, think I will go for the bars too..

Next on the list is to build up a set of american classics on kinlin xr300 for it. Then I'm done.
