  • Fully dressed, so tyres/tubes/QR's/cassette/rotors.

  • I need proper scales...

  • I need to stop worrying about the weight of my bike and just enjoy riding it...

    True

  • Latest revision of my Boardman CX.

Have checked again on electronic scales and it's still hovering around 8.9kg, but the phenom saddle was an experiment and will be replaced by the lighter and similarly shaped romin or romin evo saddle, will soon be fitting the compact spider and rings, and replacing the 5700 11-28t cassette with a 6700 11-25t one.

    Happy days

    Fixed.

  • new project beater/slave/everyday
a forum frame thanks to alex (yodasm9), nice meeting you!

  • Is that what happens when a cannondale and a langster get busy?

  • Think I'm going to get a boardman as a winter trainer. Could double up for CX racing, if I find myself inclined and bored over winter.

They do look good. And full mudguards. And disk brakes. Porn in my eyes.

  • You may well like my new bike then...

  • Pics?

Are there any rivals to the boardman? At the same 2nd hand price point.

  • Plenty, Pinnacle's CX, Genesis Vapour/Croix, Norco, etc. Matter of personal preference in which you like the feel of.

Please don't mention mudguards and porn in the same context; I can certainly appreciate the functionality of such a device, not that I would ever use them, but porn they are not.

  • NDS with full Gaston Fr seatpost action.

It's very fast though; I've done nearly 200 laps round Regents Park on Strava since I joined it and did 3 laps back to back yesterday all in the top 10.

  • nice.
It was quite windy today for this kind of sails though:)

  • ^ Ha! I have a race license thankyou very much. Was my first ever ride in a TT position like that so interested to see what difference it made.

  • My new one, came with bad rattlecan, very sad the original sparkly cherry red underneath had to go.
First lugged steel track frame and quite light to.
Partsbin and some stuff from the old one, very happy but now I have to decide between rattlecan, powder and le tonkinois (linseed oil laquer) Opinions?

  • A new guise for the cbt italia with the intention to use daily when dry. Sadly still blighted by bottom bracket issues. The current 118mm bb causes the right hand crank arm to lightly kiss the chainstay when pedalling hard, plus it seems to have slight play. However it seems difficult/impossible to locate a 120mm french thread iso bb, preferably sealed, and none of LBSs seem to be able to help. I'm a bit stumped as I know the record chainset is designed to utilise a 111m bb.
I believe the frame was one of two made for the J Suire team in 1984, I do wonder which chainset cbt italia intended to be used with this frame.
Other than that it rides lovely.

  • After some cheap 165mm cranks for this...

  • ^^ like this a lot. fixed with two brakes? seat tube cut away?

  • Lasco cranks from here...

2nd hand would be better, tbh.

French thread TA Axix in 119mm or 122mm available at http://www.routens.com/navig-ttc/388-route/451-composants/517-pedaliers/656-boitiers-et-cuvettes/7858-specialites-ta-boitier-axis-acier.html

  • not cheap...

Running it single speed atm hence the two brakes. The seat tube is indented like so

  • Thank you Tester, I had my fingers crossed that you'd see that post and offer advice. Pricey indeed but I suspected a new one might and I really love this frame.
