  • That's lovely Epam, I really like the bar tape! Very classy.

  • really nice Epam. couple more pictures?

  • Cheers, I don't imagine the bar tape is to everyones taste but I like it.

No more pics as it stands currently i'm afraid, will try to take some more when out and about (and remember to take the camera). A previous guise...

I'll now stop bombarding this thread with pics of my bike.

  • Please don't!

  • did you drill the fork and the bridge for brakes?

  • The fork was already drilled when I purchased it and the bridge is designed to take a brake; a feature, I feel, that makes it quite unique. I wonder whether the original owner (Bruno Bannes i'm lead to believe) used if for road training as well as track racing, but I have no idea.

  • I'll now stop bombarding this thread with pics of my bike.

    no one is complaining!

  • not cheap...

Still not cheap at £106 from Spa Cycles, but worth asking if they will order in French at the same price as their stock BSC versions. Phil is $188 for 120mm ISO axle plus French cups from Aspirevelotech, so all the options are expensive.

  • To be honest I think i'd be happy to pay £120 to sort it, albeit not mid house move! I've read some conflicting info re whether the TA Axix is iso or jis, you're presumably pretty sure it's iso?

  • A new guise for the cbt italia

Ace. I persuaded a friend to buy a CBT Italia road bike - it has the same seat cluster and indented seat tube and they've also done some DIY fluting on the Columbus SLX top tube & down tube, presumably to make it look like a Colnago Master.

  • Mmm that sounds tasty! I've often wondered what tubing this one is, the general thinking being columbus sl, perhaps it could even be slx then - ace indeed!

  • I want a french BB for DA7600s or SG75's but the amount they cost i'd rather just run them on JIS

  • ...they've also done some DIY fluting on the Columbus SLX top tube & down tube...

    !

  • rogan you have french cups?

  • yeah 1000aa

  • I want a french BB for DA7600s or SG75's but the amount they cost i'd rather just run them on JIS

French BB don't have a different taper do they?

It's just the threading of the driveside cup that's different.

  • I have a sugino s75 spindle, we can try it out to see if the axle spacing fits the cups if you like.

  • ^ yeah im just worried about the longevity of it? or do cup and cones last longer than im thinking?

    Thatd be great anyway yeah!

  • I want a french BB for DA7600s or SG75's but the amount they cost i'd rather just run them on JIS

I'm often tempted by the VO french bb, which I think would result in the cranks sitting 4-5mm further outboard, however not sure if this will damage the cranks. Also, does anyone know if this is 4-5mm on each side or total width between cranks? Cheers

  • its pretty much new, and bb cups last long. Just have a look if they are not indexed and let me know if you got bearing balls, I got some left as well in case.
I would probably bring it along with the cranks if we wanted to try, but that wont happen until next week. I could probably swap crankset on mines (should have done that some time ago really) so that the spindle is available, but anyway we will be in touch.

  • sweet, I have balls for the cups too, just no axle

144BCD chainring bought now too! just let me know, may put a cheeky offer on some A* condition 7600 cranks at phil the power but we'll see

  • Awesomes! Have some rep Ed +1.

You may well like my new bike then...

Oh come on, don't be a tease!

    yeah its just the threading

im using a 107 JIS, VO BB atm but with JIS road cranks, i think it does damage the taper however im not sure how bad (as in its supposed to be fine while you use it but you then can't go back to ISO BB)
