Yeah, do need to sort em, but just can't be bothered!
Plus it means I can still run them when I switch over to the CX tyres. :D

^makes sense
TM i'll never be able to let that saddle angle go :p especially with teh bars angle up like that
-
• #74454
Bit rich coming from your ball busting point of view?
-
• #74455
I was about to edit saying that's not bad actually, fast response though!
Again, have you ever cycled with a brooks for any distance? all my others saddles work at 0 deg but the brooks feels so shit at 0
-
• #74456
Dude, what's happening with your stem and spacers?!
-
• #74457
500 metres was all I needed
Could do with reallocating a couple of spacers upwards, having ridden it actually off road though, and planning to use it so again, slamdatstem ain't where it's at.
-
• #74458
for what?
-
• #74459
to realise Brooks was not for me.
have you ridden an SLR any distance?
-
• #74460
To be fair, mine very rarely gets used off road for anything more than river and canal path rides.
-
• #74461
Okay that's a rather different point.
I thought you might have used one and come to an opinion on the angle so we can discuss that. You couldn't even use the saddle so it's not worth talking about that.
And no I haven't used an SLR, but aren't all you're other saddles angles pointing down like that as well? And you previously said you me you can't ride saddles comfortably in general when they're not pointing down.*
In my case it's just brooks that aren't okay at the aesthetically pleasing 0 degrees, which is why they're a bit of an anomaly to me, and which is why I asked if you've rode one for a decent distance before.Shit you can tell I'm really procrastinating
*this is what I was thinking of, so not really a general thing jsut a couple of saddles
Went for a quick spin to get it set up and took the chance to take a less shiny photo, before any of you start on saddle angle, go ride a FiveGold in the drops and then we can talk!

Is really my winter and touring bike, and will probably stick a 0deg -10mm stem on for touring.
-
• #74463
At the moment I only really use the Boardman in horrible weather, when I don't want to get soaked riding the Orlowski.
As for saddles, I think it's generally best to let people get on with what they find comfortable. It's taken 1000s of miles for me to find a happy position, and i will listen to my balls before the internet saddle angle police.
Yours and Ed's just look painful though, to me, having sampled the nose that Brooks saddle have.

^
That's truerather, I agree, regarding what works for you.It was only a light hearted comment man! I even stuck in a ":p" to try an emphasise that!
I assure you my current angle isn't painful, but it's less extreme than when I first was experimenting
-
• #74465
Wasn't meaning you were the saddle angle police, more the forum as a whole (:
The above looks much less painful than the last photo I saw of your bike.

• #74466
Tru dat double true
-
• #74467
My gooch twinged just looking at that photo...

Purchased and fitted mudguards to the path frame I picked up from Skoota last weekend:
SDIM0697 by jonathanmdennis, on FlickrFeared the frame may be a little too long but it feels okay after a quick test ride this afternoon.

• #74469
Pretty cool that ^
-
• #74470
^^ sharp, how long is the stem?
looks like there's budge room there -
• #74471
It's a 10cm stem and a layback seatpost (those bars have a fair amount of reach too), so I've got a bit of room to play with.

Latest revision of my Boardman CX.
Have checked again on electronic scales and it's still hovering around 8.9kg, but the phenom saddle was an experiment and will be replaced by the lighter and similarly shaped romin or romin evo saddle, will soon be fitting the compact spider and rings, and replacing the 5700 11-28t cassette with a 6700 11-25t one.
Happy days!
That's proper light, I'd be over the moon if I got my 1x10 version in at that weight- which isn't going to happen.
-
• #74473
^ Tbh, I'm still a bit suspect of that weight, can't quite bring myself to believe I've shaved off that much weight (wishing the rider could too), will have to take them into to a shop that has the proper hanging scales.
But I guess things like the wheels were a big chunk off, Easton stem and carbon post, Hollowgram chainset (thanks for recommendation Dammit), lightweight rotors, tuned rear mech (thanks to Oswald), Ratio carbon seatpost clamp have all helped... and not using an Arione! ;)
Sure I can shed more weight off if I tried! :P
-
• #74474
My wheels are 3.85kg, that's about 40% of the whole bike.
-
• #74475
Whats that counting - tyres, tubes, tape, and QRs?!
I think me wheels on their own weigh in around 1.5kg.
Oh hai....
Sort your mudguards out!
(mine need some attention but better than yours innit)
