Very true. EEveryone is jumping on NJS now... They don't even make em my size though...
Neither of these internet facts are true.
Everyone jumped in 2007.
Keirin frames are all custom. If there's a rider your size, there's a frame.

He's got a colnago and a merckx as well about within that budget, though not track frames.

I don't really want an NJS frame.

So, what do you want ...

Why not flip the stem to put the drops where you need them?
About as low as I can go, ignore the broken brake lever, will get replaced soon.

Now that's the ultimate question...

Ed, that rear mudguard looks well skinny?
-
• #73310
Does it? it's a P45, the tyres' very skinny at 28mm.

I can see the new bolt threads are stripped a bit... but how do I replace/repair that bolt. Also, what model is the new one?
They're both Chorus.
The one you've taken off is an 8 speed from 1995 or 1996 (group names added from '95 and Chorus went 9 speed in '97, so "9 speed" was added below the group name).
The one you're trying to fit is 1st gen. from 1988 to 1990: it's the only model to have the "Dual-Mode System". The whole body of the derailleur could rotate on the upper pivot arm to accommodate different sized sprockets.

Admittedly it's damaged, rusty and a little plain. And needs shipping. And import tax... :)

So any of you other guys got an opinion on what you do like as opposed to what you don't ;)
If you had a few hundred quid spare, what frame would you look for?

Okay let me rephrase.
A lot of people on the forum have recently purchased NJS frames.
There aren't many 62cm+ keirin frames, and the ones that do come around go for ridiculous money due to their rarity...Better?

This will be done soon
with Chorus 10 gruppo donated from the previous Master -

I'd have thought 1200 for a used frame qualified as 'ridiculous money'

repairing and painting this frame for the mrs's birthday.... 2 reasonable dents on top and DT... Need to wait for the filler to set, the another layer filler and onto finishing and paint.
good job man, i would be interested in how the Bondo will deal with flex and vibration during road use... i've a few autobody repairs that looked good at first but ended up cracking under the paint job
efforts well warranted

Added some average parts and made this

Original chainset was pretty neat, why change it?
-
• #73324
looks nice there but it was a mismatched shimano 600 - chainset will be the next thing i buy
-
• #73325
Okay, fair play. Still ridiculous money.
If you're willing to pay they go up to Apolloxl size.
^^ I got a dentless Kierin frameset for less (certified for racing in Korea rather than Japan – so possibly less hipster points).
Hillary Stone has some beautiful track frames at the mo'.
