I'll never race, I'm totally a leisure road rider, and last year I only got to do around 400k on it, something I want to change this year, but still.
Srsly guis, is a tarmac necessary here?

I largely agree with Dan and Ed. because I had this revelation: my girl wants a roadbike. She is the same frame size as me.

A top carbon frame, seriously is a dream - putting down some watts on it is a real treat.

A Francesco Moser frame & forks that I bought online arrived today. Clearly in need of a respray, I'd planned to build it with spare parts that I've collected over time but it's a bit on large side for me. Comes with Columbus tubing and Campag dropouts - the previous owner thought the frame was a SL but wasn't sure.

Not for the current riding types. But a new bike can open you up to new opportunities. I had never ridden on the track before I got a track bike. I have never ridden cross, but I would...

You must have much higher aesthetic standards than me. Or is it going to be a concours condition wall hang build?

I'd spend the cash on some new cushions instead.

Cross post of my Sirius... Approaching "completion".
Just waiting on a black 53t DA ring I've bought, and will probably go with black saddle + tape...

black is whack!

white does look good but i think black contact points would help break up the white on the frame.

Dan is right. Excellent advice.
Just keep the frame on your wall until you can afford the groupset it deserves.
