  • ^^ I'm umming and ahhing about whether to put sram red black, or ultegra di2, both of which I can't really afford.
Wheels will whatever blingy carbon offerings ebay shows up.

Is the frame ready for internal wiring? Is there a big saving for SRAM red black over new red? See what shiny bikes are doing groupsets for as I was very surprised how close they all came out across the big three...

  • fatbirds.co.uk sells last years group sets for cheaper than this years trade price.

  • I think it was Merlin's who had a good deal (c.£600) for Ultegra D2i shifting. As its got internal cable routing its surely the only logical choice ;)

no way! white saddle, black tape for the bosslook

NEIN! Tape and saddle must match. No excuses.

I think you're both wrong. Tape and saddle should generally match, but where there is a different colour for the head tube and seat tube you can math either to that colour. So black saddle and white tape.

  • Hugo may have a point here- with that frame I could see black saddle and white tape working, but maybe with a white stem.

  • Merlin currently doing Ultegra Di2, the one you an upgrade, for £999 which is incredible
They're doing a conversion kit for either £499 or £750 depending on cables and charger I think
fatbirds don't sell SRAM and only seem to sell Campagnolo apart from the UltegraDi2
Sigma Sport sell SRAM Red Black for £999

  • I cannot find the shift-kit upgrade on the Merlin site anymore- although this may be me being a retard.

There's a full DA Di2 TT group (bar calipers) on WW for £900 at the moment, pick up in Manchester.

  • I joke of course

  • Someone tell me this is worth the money

  • It's definitely fugly.

  • too ugly to be worth any money

  • Ui2 works great and sounds like its compatible... It's no looker though! DA 9000 is available for a bit more ( future upgrade to 9070 as it becomes cheaper, though reviews seem to imply you wouldn't bother) and maybe some less bling wheels for now? Frame looks like it deserves a top tier group.

  • I can't afford that chainset so my toss up is between Rotor 3D+ or the Specialized Carbon Cranks with Alloy Spider
Any pointers? Please none based on how cool or pretty something is

  • Dammit, can i come have a look at your di2? obviously i'm too tiny to ride your bikes but would be nice to actually have a proper look at it.

  • ^^^ I'd go forUi2 every time especially for £999
Then if you really wanted to you could swap out the chainset and still have spent less money than if you bought Ui2 at normal price

  • I think keep the chainset matched to the group. Seems to always benefit the shifting overall.

  • Laner- yep of course, you'd be welcome to come and have a look.

  • My current plan is Rotor3D+ with Ultegra Di2.

My road bike has Cannondale Hollowgram SiSl with Dura Ace Di2 and that works great.

  • Laner find a place with one of these

  • Maybe just like the idea of complete groups... Designed to be a set. I'm sure they all work well with other combos provided the ramps and pins match the group design. Though new SRAM red may be an exception.

  • Edwards have a fluro Di2 demo bike- I borrowed it for a day around this time last year.

I'm sure I'd have better shifting with a 7900 crank, but my hollowgrams (and the Rotor3D+) are far more flexible as they are a modular design- compact, standard or power meter spiders can all be used.

  • Sigma have one in a turbo trainer too. Good fun

  • I support the idea of going for Rotor cranks.
