Finished! I deplore the clearance of the fork, because I can't put my front sks.

current daily..
mishmash of parts and nearly done just gotta tilt that saddle back a degree or so and sort out the bars.
Sadly the stem is utterly blocked and a little too short for me to be riding drops so I'm trying out other things. The last three weeks I rode some cheap ugly BLB bullhorns, and the bike is pretty awesome set up that way, I'm just waiting on some RB-001s to try out. In the mean time figured I'd cut down and try out this riser for a week, if the snow stops falling enough.
Love this! What do you mean stem is blocked? Stuck? Of so just cut if off and pop the forks in caustic soda for a couple of weeks.

But what you lose in dry feet you gain in having a great looking fork

Totally stuck yeah. It's had weeks sat upside in all manner of stuff, it's been whacked, shouted at, sobbed in front of.. no budging. Not tried cola or anything more caustic like that yet and if it rides nice (it does) then I'm loathe to start chopping bits up - this is a steel stem (Nitto Jaguar Steel) which would be a real pain in the ass to cut (and a shame too).
By all rights it ought not seize (certainly not in the same manner as an aluminium stem), and the ways to unseize it may be different too. To be honest I think the previous owner tightened it so far that it's deformed the fork slightly and it's in there for good bar getting a hacksaw blade down there.

I am team leader though, and you will do as I say, or I will bully you, and force feed you EPO. And then deny it, and sue if I have to.

Does anyone have a magnet from a garmin cadence sensor with mount/one that goes on your pedal spare they can sell?
I picked up a sensor cheap but it came as the sensor only

Use a ½" diameter disc magnet attached to the end of the pedal spindle; much neater.

Read about those, how deep will it need to be to get close enough?

The field strength is huge compared with the tiny Garmin iron magnet, so it doesn't need to be that close. I'm using the ⅛" thick ones, but I'm pretty sure thinner ones would work, as they're cheap you might as well get one of each thickness and just use the thinnest one which works reliably.

They belong on my track bike... Would build some other wheels for this. fork is mismatched so it'd probably be re-sprayed too.
A slate grey straight unicrown fork would look alright...seen any for sale anywhere?

you can clamp on the threaded bit.

Picked up this Marsini frameset and Alpina TT seatpost at absolute bargain prices at the Manchester Cycle Jumble yesterday. Wasted no time building it up once I got home. Still a couple of bits I want to change etc but pretty happy with it, and I think it looks great!
Don't know if anybody could shed any light on the frameset? Had a quick google but cant really find much information. ta!

The trick to taking bike photos is do it from further away and zoom in, if you've got room... Makes everything line up and look, well, right...
So you only see one side of it, can't think of the right word for it.
