OK.
The Raleigh definitely takes 27.2mm as one managed to fit in without much effort at all.
The 27mm post was the mistake. and is too small for the Rourke.
So, anyone want it?
I'll use the 27.2mm UNO in the Raleigh

can I use it for the time being?
I think me new biek has 27.0
(until I sand down the s72) -

I'll have a think about that.. might list it tonight if noone on here wants it...

• #67182
Try it in my Lexpres, as that 27.2mm did seem a little tight...

New rear wheel, with flip flop hub. Need a chain tensioner if i'm running the freewheel. If fixed i need to get a half link as my dropouts don't allow much adjustment. But i like the look, must get a matching one for the front.

Changing the size of the rear cog or chain ring may solve the tension issues (maybe with some trial and error) looks like you could do with something a bit bigger on the back anyway, is it 52:16?

Cross check is lovely. Have you got a thread for the build?
Thanks. Nah, none of that. It'll be done this/next week so will post more photos then.

The freewheel is 19T, i think the fixed is 16T. I would check but it's in the shed and its tipping it down outside. I do have another chainring for the front but its only 32T and i found it a little too slow.

Problem, Brooks tape is quite deformed and hard to re-wrap well...
Solution, iron it! Max heat, one pass on topside, not much pressure...

My alans done, just went out for 2 hours on it, fits like a glove, feels amazing, smooth as anything, my bar wrap is hideous and my cable routing is definitely anti but ah well!

Loving the Mercian, I bet that frame is an absolute beauty in the flesh. If it turns out to be one too many, or you ever get bored of it ;)

a forum tandem ride must happen.........
so far i have only seen pictures, yet to see the bike in the flesh/steel, but have a feeling(hope) it will have the usual standards of Mercian........really looking forward for the first test ride......my girlfriend is also a bike nut, so see us holding on to it for a little while yet.....
