The Frame that shouldn't be, is continuing to be the Bike that shouldn't be, and now has got a new Wheelset and Seatpin....
Crying shame to wear those rims (dark brown Araya's) but plan is to fit some Chorus Skeleton Calipers, wrap up the bars....and then probably have to sell it, hah!... BUT, until that day comes, a nice summer SS to enjoy :)

awwwww... some people pay good $$$ to have those rims for their pista rides, but now you go and slam them with brakes on a "nice summer SS"... (((

I've got the Giros on my Mercian. I find them really comfy but, as mentioned above, they're a traditional shape
what are the levers please?

^^^ that's well nice. Has the back rim got some kind of camo paintjob or is it just the photo?
No camo, just good old fashioned dirt.
Hobo why did you sell a Mash to buy a Vigorelli. .
[quote=Malaysian;2857468]Ha, funny that you've ended up with a vig. Nice build, really suits the black parts... does it ride pretty much the same as the Mash then?
This is far more comfortable than the Mash. My 30 commute is not causing my back any hassle anymore. It seems to be a lot more twitchy than the Mash, though this may because im no longer using the HED3.

No Super Italias but Planet X have heaps of NOS ITM bars here.
I'm using some 140mm drop, 80mm reach Ergo Power TDF bars that fit the bill if you're after shallow and short bars.
I wouldn't buy old used 'bars from eBay. The 1st you'll know of their history will be when they fail.

Going to Herne Hill this Saturday for 1st track session since I was a teenager! So I built this up from stuff I had (wheels, bars, saddle, etc) and got a bog standard Dolan Precursa frame which seems pretty nice for the price.
Shall be making a fool of myself at the induction and bringing along a couple of mates to make sure I can't lie about how it went...Maybe see some of you down there.

That looks great. Have fun.
You're stem of choice implies you eventually intend to go very, very fast.
:)

Nope, stupid gorilla arms and long torso (= short legs) means much wind resistance :-( I'll give it a go though:-) Looking forward to it immensely.
-
• #60688
Still it was a good idea going for the -17° stem, you have the option of going lower just by moving some spacers.
-
• #60689
Thanks:-)
It's comfortable in the current position for over an hour so I'll see how I go and move down a spacer or two if it feels okay after a few sessions.
If I survive the 1st one... -

Session 3 will be all about showing who's boss by bringing out the Old Guy Power!!!

I guess I'm looking for some reassurance that these would be worth it?
Yes, Ultegra quality with neutral branding and shims for girls and other people with small hands. AFAIK, if you leave out the shims the reach is the same as all the other man-sized levers.

Spokecards for Saturday "Plastik-Fantastic" ride - I am so stoked (excite) to see what kind of fancy HHSB-moves and (stupid)spokes people will bring for the event.

5700 levers come with shims for reach too (or at least, the last pair I saw did).

they're going to have to be bloody big to wedge them in a tri-spoke
