If you can remove the TT decal that Alley Cat will look even better.

they claim it feels exactly the same to ride as a vigorelli (that frame was ex-display model so the chap at Bob Jackson said he himself had ridden it when it was built up), which if they have managed to achieve I will be very pleased. It should run 32c, if not 28c, may be run with front + rear brakes (I have a bmx for barspins, not that I can do them on that either). They've been very polite and helpful, got it in the post today and very prompt answers to emails, I'm getting excited to see it next week,

Black Chris King headset maybe?

You could have a coaster brake on the back for jokes. If you set them up right you can freecoast in reverse. You could route the front cable through the fork and you would have an interesting trick bike.

Werd, nice frame but that TT decal is Fugly as

^^yes, I already have a coaster brake on another of my frames, They always run like freecoasters, indeed the first freecoasters were just coaster brakes with the internal brake pads take out I belive. But I just want it as a strong town bike that I can run larger tyres and brakes on, and that still looks good.
I agree with you all on the decals, but then again, as my gf pointed out they say 'cat' on them so are 110% win

I've just been chatting to Ryan about my new frame. Initial plans are oversized 853, english bb, 1 1/8 headset, internal top tube cabling, braze on front mech, Enve forks painted to match and will probably get a 2012 Sram Red group with Ksyrium ES wheels.

All sounds good, but I'd seriously reconsider the Ksyriums if I were you.

why?
Not great, relatively heavy, and poor freehub reliability IME. How much you likely to be paying for the wheels ?

English BB not BB30?

from 2006 I know, but they have new spokes and rims. I already have them.

bb30 in a steel frame would be a bitch. You can't just glue it in like with aluminium. Also it may become obsolete and there isn't a huge choice of cranks.

PF30 would be wise these days I think.

• #59297
Fair enough, I just noticed the ES, thought you might have gone for Elites or summat. Weight is good, but freehub can be a pain.
-
• #59298
Can we start taking bets as to how long before you sell it?
-
• #59299
Do the ES have the fat alu spokes? Do not want. Bike sounds sweet though. Not far at all from the road bike I'm promising myself at some (undefined) point in the (distant) future.

I shan't sell it.
1 1/8 always makes more sense anyway.
Look forward to seeing it built up. Haven't seen many Bob jacksons with Ahead but would like one myself.
