^^^^ Yo funk, go check out the classified section on this forum, 500 pounds is easily enough for a fixed.

Thinking of building a fixed (rather than buy OTP) but only to save money, so any advice on whether it is worth it?
You'll only save money by buying second hand, and it might still be better value to get a second hand OTP (or at least a complete bike) as a base and tweak it a bit.

Need to drill the front fork for the recessed bolt and ... before I fit the front though.
are you sure that's going to work? it's a tube and there's not much 'flesh' to create a flange to support a recessed bolt. later forks had beefy crowns for that. this needs a longer front brake axle, a washer and a nut.

Framebuilder is from Oz.. And that's one shiny starfish!
Very Nice I'm from Australia and also have a Gefsco track frame that was stolen when my house was broken into along with a Cannondale roady. 2 weeks later I see my Cannondale riding down my street follow it to find my Gefsco frame there half sanded back destoying the pearl marroon paint. But at least I will get it back when the police release the evidence.
The Denti was picked up on Australian Ebay.
and Yup Mavic group has had some serious polishing hours put in. Now since that photo I have picked up a NOS Mavic seat post so the only part left to find is some Mavic Drops.

hmmm.
I bought a carbon unpadded SLR from adroit to give the shape a go (and see what all the fuss is about with stripped SLRs).
Saddle is ok, a bit sharp around the edges, but it has a weird carbon effect grip finish on the top. If anything, it's a little too grippy and I'd rather get rid of it. What can I use that won't damage the carbon beneath? Assuming it is carbon.
