  • Very nice.

What method did you use to take the graphics off the stem? Or is it painted?

  • They came of really easily with a touch of Nitromors. I'm sure that will work on all aluminium stems providing the logos aren't anodised on.

  • decided what you're building it up with yet?

Got 3t mutant stem, cinelli nerve bars, Campag xenon shifters, campag daytona front mech. Just need a rear mech, a very cheap wheelset and cranks/bb. Got a 10 speed Veloce cassette too.
I reckon I may be able to get some wheels for free from work, but before anything I need to buy a 10 speed sram cassette for the turbo trainer wheel.

  • very nice, bmxed

    Cheers for the tip.

(I have an ideal FSA stem, but the tart in me can't live with the graphics).

    :)

  • I said smaller wheels.

  • I will be purchasing this frame soon and am planning on buying Ultegra Di2 piece by piece when I can afford it. Hopefully will be matching it to 3T bars/stem/forks and my Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels.

Is this the non branded version of the Ritte Bosberg?

  • Run 28c or 25c.

I loved my 32c but have to bite the bullet and go for 25c due to lack of clearance with Mudguard.

  • ^^ Not quite. But almost.

  • Is this the non branded version of the Ritte Bosberg?

    yup

  • Mr Ritte has said otherwise.

  • really?
Generic "OEM" frames out of china on ebay - Page 5 - CyclingNews Forum
"Hey guys, I'm Spencer and I actually own Ritte Cycles. I aim to be very transparent about our bikes and philosophy, so I thought I'd clarify some things. Pedal Force isn't actually a manufacturer, they're a clearing house for the factories, so it's common to find their frames match other brands. (Their previous top-end model was also labeled as a Fondriest, for instance). That said, Ritte doesn't actually make the bikes and we don't own the molds. If we did either of these things, the Bosberg would have to be $3500 instead of $1650. We did, however, play a significant role in the design and testing of the frame, and sharing it with other companies ends up being a good thing for us and our customers. Despite also being available as a "generic" frame from Pedal Force, it's actually an amazing bike. And if you're looking for a new frame and want to save some cash, then you should pick it up from PF. You'll have to also buy the fork and headset, and I don't think theirs has a seat mast, but their price still ends up being lower than ours since we paint the Bosberg and deal in very limited quantities."

  • My bad.

I knew they were designed together. But thought Ritte had them beef up the chainstays for theirs.

    They look like great frames.

  • Pretty cool for him to be so open about it, and helpful.
Now considering the Pedal Force CG1 aswell as dengfu FM029 for the next build. Cheers sumo for the link.

  • buying Ultegra Di2 piece by piece when I can afford it

You'd afford it quicker if you saved up for a complete groupset, surely?

  • I know. Much better than say, Onix, who just responded with "yeah well we helped design it" then ignored the people who pointed out the frame was available before they put their branding on it.
From my experience I wouldn't buy another Dengfu FMxxx. Fine for a budget road bike but too flexy for my liking. I can feel it squirm beneath me when putting power down or pushing up hills.

Tester- yeah probably, but it's easier for me to buy the levers one week and save the rest of my wages, buy the front mech the next week and save the rest of my wages etc. If I have a lump sum of money saved up I tend to whittle it away on things I don't really want or need.

all the options i can find are a compromises, change to 28c or get some sks race blades

    was worth a try anyway

  • Also marathon plus are a tiny bit bigger than their claimed size.

Tried it on a roadie whose max size is 28c, other fit fine, but the thick marathon plus rubbed on the brakes (28c).

  • Made a few aesthetic changes and lost a little bit of weight in the process.

    • Black Sram Red chainrings
    • Kalloy Uno Asa 105 stem
    • Tuned Sram Red rear mech
    • New chain and inner cables
    • Carbolift used to remove graphics on crankset, shifters, seatpost and rear mech

    It's now sitting at 5.665kg

Kinda what my bike aspires to be when it grows up my cash flow permits. Except less subtle and tasteful.

What drilling are the PX tubs, and what are they like? Flexy, ridable, etc.?

That's what my first thought was.

You're going SS, so there isn't the same issue with pedal strike if you had a lowish BB. Also from the looks of the clearance you should be fine with normal long reach brake calipers.

Velocity does quite a few rims in 650B.

well i got a few ideas now, thanks for trying to help, i guess its either comfort and grip or stay dry

that would be a solution but seems like quite an extreme option, i could probably get a different frame for about the same cost of converting it to 650b

  • You could have your brake bridge moved for £40.

  • Really? that's pretty cool.

  • Here is a mock up of my new Peugeot Ventoux frame, its going to be a SS/fixed commuter

    this looks nice!
