  • Yeah fortunately he is without any hassling, feel like he should also pay for my newly purchased ripped jersey too. Grrrr.

  • That is something, but you should mention the jersey as well, seriously... and anything else.

  • Happy to hear you're alright, and also that the driver's cooperating.

I agree with Malaysian, you should ask for a refund on the jersey.

  • Believe me... if the driver is at fault... the cost of replacing the frame/forks and a ripped jacket would be far more if it ended up in court... of course the driver has admitted fault, and it is so easy to say... but yes he should cover the cost of any damage no matter how minor...

  • Okay that makle complete sense to be a fucking cunts then.

ha ha - however ed you are right, but the DMRs are the ones he got from condor to keep the price low. Shoulda just left the pedals out IMO since he took it back in a car.

and Senor Bear - I'm guessing those are SPD's. I've been looking for some time atacs with a big enough flip-over platform, the allroads are pretty small looking still but might be the only option. But yeah you missed the point.

  • Your all talking sense I know, if he wasn't driving so recklessly then I wouldn't be asking for money to replace the items.
I was shocked to hear him say at the side of the road he wasn't paying much attention, he even admitted he wasn't concentrating.
You've kind of got to appreciate the honesty.

  • Time atac z is what I've got on the xc bike at the moment, I like.

big enough platfrom to ride without cleats if yous so please.

Had the time atac with the flip over platform, felt too much like a compromise, flat felt a bit small and slippery and the clips side felt sponger than normal atac roc.

(talking about the time all road gripper)

  • I had a look at them, they look decent - do the cleats stick up into your feet at all?

  • what about those new ones with the grippy side. Not a massive area to stand on but the grips will keep you in place.

  • ed, that confirms what I was thinking - they pretty much look like the atacs with a bit of plastic over the top. I was asking about the Time Z's in that ^^^ post they look more promising.

sumo, i guess the allroads are the ones your thinking of, and like ed said they seem a bit too small

  • I had a look at them, they look decent - do the cleats stick up into your feet at all?

    aimed at me or scobes?

depends how far you're planning on riding them really, and what you're wearing. They're not as good as a pair of dmrs , but wearing vans or similar they're perfectly useable. Not great in the wet without cleats though. I have them so I can just jump on the bike without worrying about what trainers I'm wearing, but if I was going to ride seriously without cleats I'd probably put some other flats on.

  • Yeah, I was asking you. I might go for em as I want the cleats for most times but if i wanna go to the shops i don't feel like dragging the bike shoes around sainsbury's, recessed cleat or not they still walk like clogs. Obvs ill take a closer inspection first..

  • in that case then yeah they're ideal. Good wide platform plenty of support.

  • Damn dude, glad you is ok, but thats a bitch.

Hope you can get it all sorted through their insurance?

I love land rovers to drive (having worked on orchards and farms), but hate them as a cyclist!

  • Glad nobody was seriously hurt in Jambon's spill.

Make sure the dopey nobber pays!

  • newly purchased ripped jersey too. Grrrr.

get him to pay for something rad.

  • ^ want Ritte kit

  • ^^want awesome bear on kit

  • You can still buy it, unlike the Ritte kit.

I want a Ritte frame and Ritte kit.

    #nevergonnahappen

  • American kit wanting to be euro kit... do not want.

    #noseturnedup

  • I'm not buying another expensive road frame unless it's a Ritte Bosberg.

  • Decided that flat bar isn't for me, no matter how much I tried to liked it, I kept wanting drop bar, so the Thorn have new bar with v-brake hood levers.

felt much more comfortable to ride, traditional headset spacer/seatpost applied.

Is that really your bike? It hurts my head.

Trying to figure out why the only bottle cage would be the underside one, especially when the front wheel has no mudguard on it.

  • lots of threaded bmx NOS forks on ebay usually. I used one for my Raleigh grifter build. You'd maybe have to use the original threaded stem from the twenty though.

Hm - not sure that'd work on the twenty, tbh - Sheldon Brown says "if you replace the fork, you'll also need to replace the handlebar stem, because the stock stems have no expander/wedge to secure them to a standard fork." I'm guessing that's saying the stem is some weird non-standard thing that only sits in place by using the clamp lever bolt on the outside of the stem. Not really 100% sure on what it all means.

In any case I did manage to find a replacement for for a Sun EZ X3 recumbent that has a 9" steerer tube which will fit the head tube, at least. If the worst comes to the worst* I can use handlebars like this: http://cruiserrevolution.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/santa-cruiser.jpg

*actually maybe not the worst as I'm starting to think these bars would be awesome

  • Is that really your bike? It hurts my head.

Trying to figure out why the only bottle cage would be the underside one, especially when the front wheel has no mudguard on it.

I took everything off to start again, the underside bottle cages is for fuel, the other cages will be added inside the triangle soon.

I hasn't installed the new ceramic front wheel with SON hubs because I don't have the green koolstop pad for it.

will be changing the 9 speed cassette to an 8 speed one (12-32), mudguard is debatable as I'll check the weather, and of course the choice between bikepacking or panniers, bikepacking proved to make the bike feel much better to ride, but panniers proved to be more convenience.
