  • Okay that makle complete sense to be a fucking cunts then.

  • excuse me?

  • The Raleigh is now dead :(

Went for a ride on Christmas eve and got hit by a Land Rover which has resulted in snapping both seat stays and leaving me slightly bruised.

Was cycling through the nice little village of Whitwell in Herts, which like most villages seems over populated with parked cars.
Cycling through the village, cars were parked on the right side of the road, so me being in the left lane have right of way to pass through.
I'm cycling in a group of 3 with me being the fluffer in the middle, rider one slams on the brakes to prevent being hit head on by a speeding Land Rover.
As a result myself and the rider 3 go into the back of rider 1. Both my fellow riders fall to the left, but I fall right into the path of the Land Rover with my right shoulder graving the fast moving trailer of the vehicle.

I'm fine and the Driver was very apologetic, just a pain to sort out a new machine after everything was dialed in. Could have been worse though.

  • oh shit mate, i'm so sorry. I loved that bike too, at least no one was seriously hurt

  • some zip ties and duct tape will sort that right out.

  • Fuuuuck, glad to hear you're not too badly injured. Strange place for it to break.

  • Cheers guys, yeah I presume it was the rider going into the back that did it. Riding it feels like I'ves got rear suspension.

  • will you be looking for a like-for-like replacement?

  • Rough luck jambon. Glad to hear you're not hurt though.

No, just want something that's a half decent stop gap before getting a modern (1/18th) setup.
Awaiting this as a replacement: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220917850240?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_595wt_1270

Cheers man, it would be niave to think its not par for the course with road cycling.

thats really nice, love those welds

  • condolences about the bike, but in any instance the rider is more important than the bike, so good to hear you are ok jambon!

  • That'll buff out ;)

Shit luck Jambon, but glad you're ok

  • excuse me?

    @ senor bear.

Goddamn Jambon, that's got to hurt, you're alive and kicking, that gotta count for something.

it's a steel frame isn't it? worth seeing if it possible to get it repaired?

  • Decided that flat bar isn't for me, no matter how much I tried to liked it, I kept wanting drop bar, so the Thorn have new bar with v-brake hood levers.

felt much more comfortable to ride, traditional headset spacer/seatpost applied.

  • That's certainly very striking Ed.

  • Behind the hatred there lies
    a bungling desire
    for love...

  • Need moar spacers.

  • That'll buff out ;)

Shit luck Jambon, but glad you're ok

    Cheers buddy

  • My current project:

  • Sorry Mike... doesn't like it is salvageable... sorry, but glad to hear you are ok... All the best! cc
