^^ Yeah, the support clamp worked loose in a day so I'll try torqueing it up more. Also, because of the bounce thing, you really do need to use the extra strap on the back, which slightly negates the QR idea.
The most surprising thing for me was how much of a bodge the QR mounting attachment is - cable ties with the ends protruding right into the main storage space? Kind of dumb.
Having the bag on also makes the bike much harder to carry down two flights of stairs, which I have to do every morning.

^^ yes, I also wish it had a carrying handle or strap.

I covered my bike in mud:
Stem needs to move down quite a bit, and it might be time to move to Cross tyres, overall cannot fault the bike though- as a winter trainer it's great.
Where?

I was talking about the mud?
Ha!
I was thinking exactly the same. Neil, that bike is not covered in mud.

I can still see the front mech! You're not doing it right.

Would like some nicer cranks eventually. Omniums (Omnia?) or 75s. But it is supposed to be the workhorse, if not exactly a beater...
I keep thinking this, but I have found the Stronglights perfectly solid and decent. I'm replacing the chainring, not out of necessity, I am just finally getting fed up of it's ugliness.

there is a common fault in new CK road hubs. Check for play in rear hub, its a warranty issue.

It says clearly in manual that they need readjusting after 10min /50 min /400k (something
along those lines). Or is it beyond that?Nice one dov!

I rode with my Carradice all summer and really liked it, went for the bagman (non QR support). Found it to be really hard wearing and had no issues with it but recently moved back to the trusty courier bag coz it's bigger, the weight is on me not the bike and i also got sick of carrying it up and down the stairs to my flat with a heavy arse end.
I do like it and will keep it for longer rides like the DD and L2B runs as it's way better than having to wear anything on your back!

I do like the shape of those bars. Hmm.

that is nice, i believe its older than mine as they introduced there fastback seatclamp design in the early 80s
mine has nicer cinelli lugs and a aero bb shell and detailing though and i paid about a tenth of the price ;)
If and when you ever sell it, do get in touch.

got any old velcro pedal straps anyone?
I love my carradice! But then I got the SQR which still has faults, but you can take it on / off easily. My biggest gripe is that there is no shoulder strap for when you aren't on the bike
