a leader 722ts, should be a tad more practical than my current bike

Just finished rebuilding a lighter wheelset for this bike so that I am less tempted to ride around on my crabon. Thought silver parts on black frame would look stupid but I'm quite pleased overall.
Rides well too. Very snappy.

^ Used to be Varno's, huh?

Actually I'm Varno's slow and fat alter-ego.

The Forty can be a bit bulge-y too though, just in a different way.
Maybe if the frame was lugged it wouldn't be so noticeable.
It's probably par for the course with decent non-integrated headsets unfortunately, they're always trying to make the bearings bigger in order to handle the load better.
Mack spacer stack and flat bar? por qué?

I always like silver cranks and wheels on modern black bikes. It gives them an old skool classiness, that all black bikes lack.

I know what you mean. Sometimes the ninja look is too much.
My other Dolan is fully black come to think of it. Easy to choose between the two.

With the previous bars there was some drop from the clamp to the hood, hence the inch of spacers below the stem.
I know everyone has their own preferences and all, but I just can't see why people knowingly choose bars like that.
The extra hand positions you get with flat bar tops is invaluable. You're sure to like the new set up.

I assumed you were going to get one of the adjustable Cain Creek ones so you could adjust the headtube angle(?).
Its an option, so the frame is somewhat future proofed. You need to be running a striaght 1 1/8" steerer. But I like the idea of a massive tapered carbon fork. The Fatback fork needs to be seen, its ta sex.

Dan, you're really not helping my temptation to get the Dolan Seta on account of how light it'll be, especially with decent lightweight wheelset.

Ed. I've never riden a Seta before but it must be an almost identical ride seeing as the frames are almost identical.
Riding a light and stiff carbon track bike in London is bliss but from my experience it is a bad idea to ride one every day. Ignoring the fact that I managed to skid a track end out (may well have been a one off) some of the cosmetic damage caused by gravel etc really makes me cringe. Its nothing major but its a shame to use a nice frame in that way.
It doesn't seem to have a tough finish which to be fair might be because it was designed for indoor use only. If you're going to do it, don't buy new.

According to Dolan themselves, the Seta is design for endurance race, like the six days, it got a slightly slacker head/seat angle and a longer headtube than the Dolan Precursa, so I doubt it'll be as harsh as your custom track Dolan.
That why I'm always keen on the Seta.

Very true. Varno is a sprinter so that would also make sense.
I don't think the differences are great though, I think the Seta is only tweaked slightly from track angles.

I've just had some 3TTT ergo power TDF bars arrive from Planet X. They're 80mm reach.
i was planning on getting bullhorns, but those look nice, and cheap, and comfortable worth a punt?

well, you may not have that much a flat section to rest your hand on thought, the Bontrager one have;

made my mountain bike single speed on the cheap
so did I. I stopped changing gears. (sorry couldn't resist :P )

made my mountain bike single speed on the cheap. I will take off the unused cassette cogs when I can be bothered/have the tools. I'm using the derailleur as a chain tensioner so cut off half the cage with the bottom jockey wheel to save some weight/look neater.
Shitty photo
can't figure out whether you need more or less coffee....
