If you want bling, maybe a Cane Creek 110 in blue?

Just to cross post this out of shear excitment. I did a quick BikeCad of the frame I'm having made. Still need...
Salsa Mukluk hubset
Sram X0 short cage rear mech
Hope M4 brakes
Fatback tapered steerer, carbon fork
Ti seatpost (undecided)
Screw-in tyre studs (I'm thinking just a light studding)

Frame was £120 and was perfect, only recently powdercoated and complete with headset. So I got it stripped ! Mario charged £88 which is the metallic colour, the white seat tube collar with hand painted god trim, head badge and removal of the gear lever bosses.
The seat tube sticker was free for a sheet of 6 and required the machivellian skills of the devil himself to weedle out of some granite faced print types. Luckily I have them.
And Miro o I had considered the velo idea but as I was noting her turning 40 in the design in French (to soften the blow) I thought it too European. But yes it would have been cool and a logical evolution of our wedding graphics.
I've also spent another fiver since these photos as I chipped the damm thing so a 531 sticker has been stealthily bought and applied. Never use a spanner with greasy hands mes amis.....
Nicely done mate.

Talking about headsets and things- I have a set of forks coming, with a full carbon steerer.
Recommend me a good expanding bung and top cap please, that will be aesthetically pleasing, light, and extremely effective at it's job.

The Forty can be a bit bulge-y too though, just in a different way.
Maybe if the frame was lugged it wouldn't be so noticeable.
It's probably par for the course with decent non-integrated headsets unfortunately, they're always trying to make the bearings bigger in order to handle the load better.
coincidently the bike before that one in the flickr stream has a ritchey headset on it so i can compare directly

I had Grand Bois on mine, very thin but lightweight 32c tyres, damn comfortable and fast, no puncture yet (touch Bois).

I'm considering a Chris King for the fatbike build. I have a 1.5" headtube, and will look to get a tapered fork. This usually means internal top bearings, external base bearings. I like the Hope headsets very much. But I could get a CK tapered InSet (No5) in blingy blue.

That I can order now, easily, I should add.
Although that looks tempting- albeit slightly intimidating relying on my clumsy Aralditing skills to secure it.

Giros? Normally stacks of them available second hand
I've just had some 3TTT ergo power TDF bars arrive from Planet X. They're 80mm reach.
Noodles actually have quite a long reach by modern standards - around 95mm, which is a good inch further than a modern compact.
Try the B105AA - reach is 65mm.
Cheers!

Yes alright. I've been hanging around with unicyclists and I'm sure their enthusiasm for the importance of crank length has clouded my judgement.
As a unicyclist myself, crank length plays a huge part for speed, control and leverage. I've not noticed this as much when riding bikes, only on the leverage side of things.

Real unicyclists don't need cranks

my frame finally came just waiting on the forks and spokes for the front wheel now
