The problem is that compact drop tend to come in oversize clamp, luckily there are alternative that also come in 26mm so can be used with a quill stem, such as Bontrager, or the Soma HY1.

I like the build, u must be a huge person. But what ratio is that? Looks scared to ride that brakeless.
-
• #52780
especially since it looks like its singlespeed??

• #52781
That is quite large.
Posted it in the Big Beautiful Bikes thread.

Eh? What's the correlation between leg length and ability to pull a higher gear?

Big people are faster. Power ∞ height³ but drag ∞ height²

i dont know what the exact physics of it are but a tall rider with 170 cranks will find 52/17 easier than a short rider with 165 cranks...something to do with the fact that the angles and lengths between bb, pedal, ankle, knee, hip are different

It looks nice man, what are those bars? I hope they are silver with black grips and not black bars with silver/white grips.
-
• #52792
i think there gusset risers and yeah they are black with grey grips, but there off now the drops look nicer and feel more comfortable and they are silver with black innertube as the grips

Nice bike, but I'd be nervous about the front tyre and downtube touching. Clearance looks paper-thin.

with thanks to jogger, finally found a silver post, so I'm close to happy. i want to get rid of these wheels and replace them with something with a box section rim and preferably (but unlikely) a set of hope ti glides. i decided put spuds for winter instead of look keos. pretty happy with it, not too sure about the saddle, its fine unless I'm not wearing padded shorts then its a bit uncomfortable over 5 miles, but that will be last most likely, wheels are now on the agenda.
Give me a shout when selling those Zonda's please. I still got a nice set of oldskool Mavic box section wheels for sale, but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. When interested please send me a PM, I'll send you some pictures.

just bought a campy 52 tooth campy chainring record pista on ebay for £35 quid, its new and unused..good deal? diddnt mean to buy it :/
That's not expensive.
I bought a NOS 48T 144mm BCD new Campag last week for EUR 20 in NL, but that's a real exception.
I posted it here. Seller had more.
They usually go for a lot more.Got a 48T 151mm BCD USED Campag this week from GBP 21 in UK and that was a real bargain. Similar 46T from the same seller went for GBP 32 one day later.
GBP 50 is a more average price. It really depends on your luck, timing, BCD of the ring.

Big people are faster.
Less big people are more 'aggressive'.That's my excuse.

clearence is really close but they never touch

Until you hit a bump at speed, then both you and your bike get destroyed in the ensuing endo.

I presume modern campagnolo 4 arm chainsets require a spacer between the two rings where the fifth chainring attached on the back of the crank arm, if so where can I get hold of one or what size is it?

The 10s Mirage/Veloce one I have in my hand is 3.4mm thick, 10mm ID, 13mm OD. Carbon and/or 11s versions may be different
