  • Or pop it all on this Benotto pista frame

  • Gazelle looks lovely.

  • Cheers was going to repaint, got new decals but paint is lovely pearlised colour blue to silver colour and going to leave as is.

  • LUST! Will look ream with a white HED3 on the front

  • And risers natch..

  • Yeah never repaint, looks mint. lovely cranks and hubs

  • What they said, colour is lovely jubley.

    Think they're doing chains in pearlescent shades now, you might find one to match?

  • My new bike, brought the frame and forks off the ebay then built it up last night with the parts from the old bike.
    Almost finished but waiting on some stiffer bars and a black front mech clamp, went on a 50 mile ride today and it felt good, although not that much different than the old alu frame it replaced!

  • Simpson79, that Gazelle is not too shabby! Really nice! Crank is sex too, guess that that is period correct for the frame too right? Fork crown looks quite late 80's? (but I could be very wrong, DC, come and correct me)

  • just bought these;

    ![](http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzY4WDEwMjQ=/$(KGrHqQOKpEE6(J,4uK)BOrdhh5LPw~~60_12.JPG)

    and these;

    (on mdcc's advice, except for the brifters, which are my compromise with slightly newer)

    to go on the look, wont be completely period correct but will run super fast i hope!

    now i only need a chain and an 8 speed cassette and i'm away!

    might need a frameset too!

  • might need a frameset too!

    9 hours travel later...

  • that Look is going to look super awesome with that gruppo and those wheels.

    If money was no object I would have gone for Record and Shamals though :)

  • thanks, and yeah, those titanium shamals that are in ebay finds would have been amazing, but as you say gotta have an eye on the wallet.

  • ..:$

    What I can gather frame number 3287335 dates it to 1982/83? So cranks bit later, had some fluted ones but always liked the look of these hopefully a bit more solid

  • No, it's newer.
    I think 1985/86 or even a bit later.
    That fivenineclimber database isn't correct.

    This colour, sapphire blue, is post 85
    So is the Cinelli BB shell with the points at the sides.
    What does the sticker at the bottom of the seat tube say? Reality cycles?
    I don't think they imported GAzelle in 82/83 and thiose stickers didn't excist then.
    That was really after 85.

    Very nice stuff though.

  • @DC Yes its a reality sticker, well spotted. Excellent Gazelle info as ever, Cheers

  • I think I'm going to replace my brake hoods tonight (SRAM Rival, the new hoods are Hüdz) but I've never done this before and can't seem to find any instructions online. The levers are already installed on the bars so is it just a case of peeling the old hoods forwards over the levers? I've fiddled with this when positioning the levers and it seems like a mighty tight fit so I'm wondering if I just need to be more brutal or if I'm missing something. The existing levers came (2nd hand) with a big rip in the hoods, presumably from the previous owner being a bit overzealous.

    I very well may be wrong (you might want to check first) but if they are plastic or rubber then leaving them in pretty warm water for a while first might help their flexibility and help get them onto the levers? As for getting the old ones off, can these be cut off?

    Item 7 in the FAQ

  • Hey, new to the site. This is my first fixed build. A dolan pre cursa with pretty budget components!

  • this is my rossin (t)rack bike :), i'll probably get crucified for slapping sweptback handlebars on a vintage track frame but its such a nice ride now and room for shopping or girlfriend on the front, maybe not with these wheels
