  • Harumph.. I'm not sure. I know it ought to be (Campag) but I think I just wanna do something different.
By the way, loving your bike from a few pages back, Malaysian!

  • Cheers! I've tried to do the campag thing on my Argos, just short the wheelset (I know, that's a big one to miss...) think the classic record stuff would look great on your frame, but then so would a pair of 75s....

  • Once I post my own bikes up, people will understand how loosely I follow "ought to".
Follow your heart, or whichever organ directs you.

if you want 'different', try and find a mavic groupset (probably 90s). think it would look really nice on that frame.

  • Loving the attention to detail with the protective duster under the frame.

  • when did this place turn into a "you-must-have-front-brake-to-ride-fixed-on-the-street" all of a sudden?

  • Cheers, chaps. Will update here when I get started on it.
Thanks PPP for the shout on a Mavic groupset, worth a look simply as I'm not sure I've ever seen one before!

  • full Suntour Superb GO!

  • Just got my frame back from being powder-coated.

Photo looks more pink than the purple it actually is.

  • Finished my first fixie build yesterday, this morning I adjusted the stem height, went out for a ride took photos and then adjusted the seat position. The frame a a 80's dawes frame that I got powdercoated as it was going to die of rust I've left on all the brazing so I can build it up with gears at some point if I feel like it.

just itching to build a 'sunday' bike now.

  • took photos and then adjusted the seat position

Wrong order. Now everybody who looks at the pic without parsing the text is going to think you're clueless about bike set up.

  • Heaven forbid

what rear mudguard is this? or something similar that clips onto the seatube

Don't know, but I used to have one like it - cheapo helfrauds maybe(?). sks race blades are much better. I know they cost a bit more, but they are worth it in the long run, plus they take seconds to put on and take off, so one set works for all your bikes.

  • yes apart from the fact that my raceblades are forever slipping and coming into contact with the wheel. Need to adjust them before every ride and they are rubbing by the end. They are currently taped in position which is holding OK and since I'm not riding any other bikes atm this works but it is also a little frustrating. Broadly speaking I'd say they were pretty good though.

  • Do you have very thin stays? Or do you recon it's because they're just in between the notch sizes?

Just wondering as mine haven't budged.

You could maybe try cable ties just under the rubber stops.

  • Rear triangle being converted to take 700c soon.. As you can see it was made for 650. Non of the parts will actually be on the final frame

  • Seat angle =

  • slope quite mental on that lee cooper.

  • apollox = a loada bollocks!

  • slope quite mental on that lee cooper.

Same reach from saddle to drops as my other bikes though. Will be for time trials though.

Sorry, the mudguards don't slip on the frame, that attachment is excellent. However, if you look at the picture you'll see that the actual mudguard is held in place on the metal arms by two plastic runners - these also enable you to adjust the angle and height of the mudguards. It is these that slip on my bike. The instructions recommend drilling the mudguard and screwing the two pieces together but since I (at leas used to) swap between bikes a reasonably frequently, this wasn't an option. Tape is holding up OK for now but is just a little bit annoying.
