just waiting on a carbon seatpost & new stem then I'll be happy with it, for now...
Lose the stickers off the wheels... would look cleaner, like the frame.
also, saddle angle is a bit extreme, but if you find it comfy then fair one. do you not get sore wrists?
-
• #51005
yeah hats off to rodolfo for his great work with the frame :) its nice and easy to keep on top off too, stickers are now off the wheels since this photo and yeah on a long ride wrists tend to get sore, waiting for the right bmx stem to come along! finally ordered a aero seatpost too!
@andyp, nope, its a little place on the outside of manchester/bolton where i live :)

I've got an odyssey elementary if that's the right one...
waiting for the right bmx stem to come along
-
• #51007
which V, and what colour, that is actually what i've had in mind PM me a pic if possible :)
-
• #51008
if your wrists are sore, try getting your saddle a little more level, could really help.
-
• #51009
The bike looks good, I'd hate to see its aestherics and handling ruined by a silly short BMX stem. Fixing the saddle angle might relieve sore wrists like Malaysian says.

I reckon the problem is largely due to not having enough weight on the saddle to prevent sore wrists (too much weight on handlebar).
just adjust the saddle horizontally.
edit - malaysian already said it.

My new frame arrived today!
Nice! Though it is not a GT edge, its the Forte which was second tier ti made by sandvik and came with Ultegra. Give away is the bead blasted finish as opposed to the almost mirror finish of the edge. Looks in good nick. Looking forward to seeing it built.

Thanks! Did I say it was an Edge? But yes you're right it's the '98 Forte. It won't be built up period correct but it will be built. Coming soon.

They do yes, I obviously haven't tested them in the wet yet but they are ment to be waterproof yes. They've all got a free floating liner, thats tape seemed at the top. Much you get in chrome bags.
[QUOTE=Malaysian;2431978]oh yeah you said you were bringing gears to the fixed party....
Can I ask how much the bags set you back?
Spotter I've toured a few times with those panniers, they are absolutely solid. some nights when I've slept in a bivi I used them as pillows.
I'd still recommend getting a compressing bag for your clothes in side the pannier though, have a look on alp kit you can pick them up quite cheap.
The only thing I would say is try not to overload them too much (like all panniers) as they will sag, but maybe that's because I'm using mine with a cheap rack?

Project 'Winter Beater' begins...
Currently getting it's cranks angle ground off, with the next phase being sandblasted and lacquered raw. All black components, chunky tyres and a low fixed gearing and I'm ready for the winter.
It seems impossible today, but in 8 weeks it'll be snowing, I guarantee it.

don't tempt it.

have just knackered my 'current project', got a bit excited skidding and think ive threaded the thread. the cog now had a certain amount of give each way under heavy pressure although when you move it forwards through the 'certain amount of give' it works fine to ride forwards and the problem then only occurs when you skid. however before i diagnosed the problem it was giving a kind of blob of cog turning feeling when i skidded and when i pedaled forward. my fault for getting a cheap back wheel.
sorry for all the incorrect terminology. apart from that the bikes still great. -
• #51021
Take the lockring off and check the threads. Sounds like you've stripped the thread a enough for the sprocket to rotate a little

Or it just needs tightening.

Hi people,
I'm just starting to build a new track bike & am stuck
Frame in build, not here yet but Chas said 4 weeks:
Roberts 953 in White with carbon forks polished head lugs & rear triangle.
Wheels:
Campagnolo piste wheel set.
Now I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the rest......
Do I go classic campagnolo record alloy chain set complete with polished campag aero seat post & Brooks B15 titanium in honey & silver alloy stem & track drops?
Or
Go black carbon kit throughout?
Im totally undecided as it's an exquisite frame & giving it the wrong look would destroy it so thought I'd through it out there to see what the general opinion is...... -

Finished my first ever 48h wheel build. Really easy to get true. From the start I had it in my head to build it 3-cross, only when googling for what it should look like afterwards did I find Sheldon's website saying that the most common lacing is a 5-cross. 5-cross?!
It's a Halo SAS rim to an ACS 70mm flange hub using Sapim Race spokes. My LBS only had the correct length spokes in black and they also happened to have exactly 48 spokes left in stock, lucky. The hub was in the CRC warehouse clearance sale so it was only £5. You can tell it's a cheap hub when you spin the axle
