  • I assumed that having it connected to the front brake as well is out of the question as it cost money?

  • biros ain't cheap y'know... oh, wai-

  • Tall people make me feel, well, small.

    I like that a lot.

Frame is 63 c-t, might take some paint off it and see what's up

I know you love it but that Problem Solvers cable doubler is a) ugly, b) not necessary and c) £55.

  • Hah, I don't have it, but it does seemed like a handy solution.

I ran a rear brake on mine, after my grandfather kept telling me to put it on the back, even though it's a fixed wheel.

  • It's a clever solution if that's what you need. But I have Noodles with drop levers and a cross lever inline on the front brake cable, so I have about five hand positions with the front brake accessible from the three most common ones. So, dorky enough already I think.

This. The lever is there as something to put my left hand on. The only reason I have a proper lever there (rather than a dummy) is that it gives options in the future.

  • this is my project i just finished, for a few days at least, and will get better photos sometime as these are very bad.

two better photos if anyones interested

Is that a 26" front wheel, or is it late and my eyes playing tricks on me?

  • It is. Looks like a steel rim too.

  • Would help if I posted the picture.

that frame is lovely, don't powder coat. Sell it before painting it.

  • finally finished! or working at least. gotta get a randonneur rear tyre on it soon. shame i cant fit a bigger tyre on the front, fork clearance is about 2mm with a 23c.

    and looks much nicer.

  • Ha, 'funny' you bought that Dasia, Sumo.
I always thought the paintjob was hideous when it was standing in my spareroom all this time, untill I put the HSON on for the sales thread and it kind of grew on me instantaneously.
Could've been a good cheapish fool-around bike, now that I'm selling my Koga..
I'm interested to see what you'll make of it.

Didn't realise it came from you originally. It's got the Omniums I got off you on it now.
I can't decide between risers or bullhorns. Think I might go with risers.
It's got my Pro Lite black track wheels, getting a black stem and I maybe a Specialized Phenom saddle and yellow bars.

  • Brake lever biro spring bodge

Tried it out on my commute this morning - 11 miles of london's shittest road surfaces and no rattles to be heard :)

  • Just got to add bar tape and maybe cut steerer tube down a little then BMC road is all done

  • Looking good.

  • I wanted to say the carbon needs to go but the bike seems to disagree.

  • ^^^ What are Ultremo tyres like? They seem pretty cheap for the weight/marketing spiel

  • Part finished touching up the paint - Doesn't look great close up but stop it from rusting until I get it resprayed properly, just loosly threw on the parts to see what it will look like and check if i need to clean any threads when I finish the painting. Hopefully get it finished this week

  • looks nice, what are the rims?

  • Araya RS-430's

  • That's really, really nice.

The fork crown and stays make me think it's not your regular garden Pug? Do you know what the tubing or model no. is?

    Kewl paint too.

  • Ive been too busy to do much to it but I have managed carbon bottle holders and a seatpost.

I haven't installed the groupset because im still waiting for wheels, bars and a stem.

they are very good tyres. I use them on my identical BMC.
