  • which mercian my lovely?

i read that in this voice

  • They are Cannondale cranks- I've ordered them (175mm, 53/39), it's whether or not to go for steel or ceramic bearings that I am debating.

    These are the ones:

    (Roberto's picture)

Huh, they weight similar to my TA 50.4BCD crankset with chainring (480g)

I suppose it's never as stiff as those though, and naturally didn't included the BB.

  • Strongest wheel ever - Phil Wood touring hubs, triple butted spokes, and rigida CSS rims.

  • Lovely.

I could make a stronger wheel... for cheaper too

  • I could make a stronger wheel...

  • Strongest wheel ever

Dished for multiple gears = not strong.

I expect my Kris Holm x Hope Pro 2 SS/Trials x DT Alpine III rear is stronger.

  • I reckon the custom 24inch rear wheel on my P3 will shit on all your efforts!

    (blows raspberry)

  • I reckon the custom 24inch rear wheel on my P3 will shit on all your efforts!

And a 48 spoke BMX wheel will shit on that, and you can buy one for less than Ed's spokes, but this contest is for adult sized bikes.

  • ed you say the most hyperbolic shit sometimes. i don't get it.

greenracer, the inverse shim is a joke. the idea is a shim exists which will make a big peg fit in a small hole. it's not possible.

  • ed you say the most hyperbolic shit sometimes. i don't get it.

No, I said the most vague shit, there's a difference, it would've been more accurate to claim it's the strongest wheel for heavy duty touring.

The Rohloff crowd want to have a word with you.

  • Different kettle of fish, derailleur are more prone to damage but easy to fix on the roadside.

There's actually a Rohloff version of that rims designed for the high flange of the hubs (different drilling).

  • Greenracer - my screw on freewheel went on with the writing hidden, which seems weird when you're fitting it. Try to picture the way that the chain will pull the wheel, whilst it'll screw on both ways, it'll only work in one direction, unless you want to ride backwards.

Were your cranks hammered out of a solid ingot of iron by a smith wielding a mighty ugly stick instead of a hammer?

  • Right I have pretty much finished my geared bike no thanks to the FUCKING SHITTY ONION CUNT OF A LBS man.

To whom are you trying not to offend? surely the whole point of saying cunt is to make sure you're offending the individual?

Fixed, be a women, scream cunt from the top of your lung instead.

  • project hood whip .2-just got to add the stem and bars from the old one

  • My new (to me) frame arrived yesterday. Seems quite light and looking forward to building it up.

Got a question for people who no more about zero stack headsets than I do (only threadless ones I've installed have been the more conventional type)

The upper bearing cup sits a bit proud of the headtube so the top cap won't go flush with the top of the headtube. I assume I just need to get it down the LBS so they can ream the headtube out a bit and press the cup in. However, it's a second hand frame that somebody has been riding around for the last 2-3 years so you'd expect it to be right by now!

  • Track build is done, enjoyed puttin this together, thanks to sellers on here for some of the components. havent tried it on track yet but boy it takes off fast with these angles. happy days.

Still gutted you pipped me to that one, looks very nice :)

  • Dear ed scoble,
    why always with the onions?

    regards,

I suppose it's **never as stiff **as those though, and naturally didn't included the BB.

highlighted pieces make the rest of the statement irrelevant and useless

  • Oh look, a Precursa. £80 delivered next day, very well done Dolan.

    • Just hope it doesn't look like one of flickwgs bikes

  • Oh look, a Precursa. £80 delivered next day, very well done Dolan.

Such a good deal, cracking frame too.

  • Macready, build it with black wheels, silver cranks, black bar tape with road brake levers and a black seatpost and have one the same as me and Fade.

  • Much lighter than I expected!

That is pretty much exactly what I was thinking Sumo, hah :(

What forks are you using? I need drilled ones
