Well, quick googling come up with the following;

I would have preferred to see a slightly more understated build. IMO coloured rims are for mtb's, bmx, and maybe crusers. White stems, are for modern road bikes.
The saddle is interesting, what is it?
Saddle is a selle SMP I have them on my mtb and road bike as well. Very comfy and the cutout centre piece helps with help with bloodflow.
I have white stems on my 4 bikes!!! ( I am now thinking about putting a white stem on my son's bike)

Try a longer Googling. ie read it. Just because they existed, doesn't mean they were popular.

fair point, I suppose the right choice of word is that fixed wheel were popular, rather than specifiying internal gear hubs, which were short lived as you pointed it.

not sure why you applied the same aesthetics to a classic path frame and a modern track frame?
That carlton is a beautiful frame, it's screaming out for a classic build with silver fluted post, quill stem, classic crank, low profile wheelset and chain... and my guilty pleasure of some priest bars.
and if you're using black saddle then black tape.
this is just my opinion.

I have already changed the bartape to black cinelli cloth ribbon as I felt the same.
The 5 buils before these were classic until the Tifossi. I hated the ride of the alloy frame but liked the feel of the new parts. That's why I went for the cross over of 60's track frame with new parts. -

I like the fact you choose to take a photo of your crosscheck with your mobile phone despite having a perfectly decent camera on the drawer, what's up with that?

one - my grandfather who used to race time trial with his 3 speed fixed hubs (it was his work and race bicycle), and two - in the 50's, time trial were the preferred choice of the british cyclists.
tilover, that bike look real awesome, seeing it's a time trial bicycle, you could put a 3 speed fixed hubs on it and put the bar end shifter on the downtube.
yes ed, ordered the hub- expecting it to arrive early next week. should be fun!

My kind neighbour happily signed for it and the courier followed the instructions I left. Unfortunately the royal mail man didn't so I haven't got the new head set and bottom bracket yet.I also fitted cranks to the trike but haven't taken photos or added the lights as it started to bucket it down so I had to rush inside.
