Finished my Graham Weigh build for the track. Many thanks to Mattty for the frame.
(I now need to stop making excuses and actually go to the track).
nice wheels ;)

Yeah I noticed you'd taken the stickers off yours for an aero advantage, or something.

I've got a minimal branding theme going on. I really like that metallic blue.

Thanks, I'll accept that compliment on behalf of the bike... Truth be told, I thought it looked pretty terrible at first but it's grown on me, looks a lot better built than as a frame. It was a super cheap build too, which I'm happy about. Whens your Dolan going to be done?

Love it, buy some pedals that are too good for current bike. Justifies building whole new more expensive bike.

Yeah, had 2 tabs open and typed into the wrong one. I clearly can't multi-task

Current guise. Thought I'd take a bigger pic. Excuse the photoshop.

Is that an SX3, with a deep section carbon wheel and only one brake? What a mess.
-
• #47115
S3x. Thought I'd try it out. Not really a mess either. Infact, I think it looks neater than a derailleur.

How does it feel when resisting the pedals to slow-down? Does it feel like a regular fixed?
-
• #47117
It's not as direct.
You have about a degree of play which takes getting used to. (Like a slack chain)
I've started using it to control speed. So going through gears to slow and acc. (No madskidz mind)
The mechanical loss is greatest in the lowest gear index. (You feel it the most)
At first I did not like it but now it's just plain fun.

Ordinata, i like it how you take your Mash in a different way, good job
btw, front hub looks like novatec, but with way too few holes (20?) what is it? -
• #47119
Thanks Scorch! Tis a factory built Prolite wheel and hub.

i have an s3x in the post for my project too - figured it would be a nice change.
although that front wheel looks pretty impractical for everyday riding! -
• #47121
I can swap it out for windy days. Or just stay in ;op
Plus it's not my every day bike. I'm a weekend warrior now.

So I've bought a pompetamine, ordered it less than 48hrs ago and it's getting delivered lunch today. Very impressive for free delivery! I've now got to retrieve the dead bike from the parents in law, wait for some bits from chainreaction and It'll be a happy building day!
I'll try and chase up some sort of warranty from evans too. It was delivered so they'll have postcode to record the transaction. When I logged in to there website there was no record of it though. Will give them a call to see if there is any hope and see if my dad still has the receipt.
I rode my wifes bike this morning. Looked suitably ridiculous. BIg poncho, child on the back in a plastic bag, knees in my face. We were going from peckham to the rfh - hopes for a spot!

Cupcake that build makes me want to get my nelson back on the track. It's only done it once, sob.

You have about a degree of play which takes getting used to. (Like a slack chain)
The reason for that is the internal hubs work better when you don't pedal through the change of gear - the slack allowed you to change it, it's not like a derailleur bicycle where you have to pedal to change gear, quite the opposite.
hence why you don't see many fixed wheel internal hubs, even though they were popular in the past.
Love it, buy some pedals that are too good for current bike. Justifies building whole new more expensive bike.
