Just don't paint it. There are a million black bikes. Build it up first, then decide, not to paint it.

1970's Colnago track frame with all vintage parts... here is just a tease, hopefully the weather will be nice next weekend and I can take some proper pics of the full build. :-)

for fucks sake. my frame was metallic purple when i got it and i convinced myself to powdercoat it white. fail.

that paint is incredible! sounds like you're building from scratch so you could easily make it work! for the love of god don't repaint!

Heh heh, see when I bought my frame it was mingin' dirty chipped grubby yellow and covered in stickers... now it's purple sparkle :D

Do no spray this, that's an amazing paint job?! Plus it looks like the paint is in great condition. I can understand respraying a tatty frame, but to respray this...? Criminal.

@ Superprecise...i remember your frame when it was purple; Diamant right?! I seem to remember trying to persuade you that red bits would look great on a purple frame. But alas, you were fixated (no pun intended) on a white frame, and i begrudgingly handed over the number for armourtex. Shame indeed, at least you've acknowledged your mistake ;P

what a waste if that gets resprayed...

Are those tyres tub? have you thought about getting some decals up?

as for saddle - San Macro Concor is your best bet (the classic one).

2.5 hours of stitching and swearing but I'm pretty pleased with the end result.....

Have you put end cap in yet? After putting loads of little round dents in the coffee table, I had to resort to using a mallet to get mine in.

I'm going to use some corks and trim them down. No chance of getting normal ends in the way I've finished them off

Beautiful Itaian track bike - tell me more, tell me more - where did you find it, how much did it cost, what year is it, have you restored it and what parts are you to fit ???

Yep tubs! wheels came with mercian track bike, new wheel set when i have more cash.

Yeah thinking of what colour for decals maybe red, or lime green.

I will check out the saddle!
