^^ the fork looks a little out of place IMHO. Also, no clips?
-
• #4553
yes no clips atm. my shitty plastic ones were doing more harm than good so if anyone has any metal ones to shift please pm me.
i really like the forks though, very light, which helps alot on this lump of metal ha! -

Hi,
tis new to me this, anyway, I have fancied going fixed for a while so bought a full bike on ebay to convert.
I have heard kittens die because of this? I checked with Sheldon and got some info.
I am keeping most as original as I can, the paint is nice and stays and forks chromed so any grinding, fileing, brazing track ends on is a no i think for the time being.
Its a late 80's TT bike 531 frame, very light, good components.
So far i have taken off the bits I don't need and put a new chain ring on , (cranks are mavic 144 bcd). The BB is campag and with the cranks give a 45mm chain line. I am waiting for a back wheel from Betd (I initially went to brixton but it was £40 more?) which should line up nicely. Then it should all be tickadeboo.
The bike came with 2 sets of wheels and 5 cassettes, I will keep the 2 fronts. I will try to sell the rears. Offers
wheels are 700cc, one has a campag record hub (screw on type), Wolber tx profil rim. The other is a ofmega (screw on cassette) with a worn open pro. Cassettes vary in size and spread of gears 2 by suntour, 1 maillard, 1 regina extra and 1 regina america.that is all, any ideas or advice would be good, pit falls I may not have thought of?
cheers, H

It's just a bike I use for riding around town and getting into lecturesetc. doesn't need to be anything special, aesthetically.
So why remove all the braze-ons and powdercoat it white?

There's a difference between repainting it simply so that it looks fresh and clean, and goin' for some crazy OTT candy paintjob. I guess he's going for the former.

@Hoggle - are the cassettes 7 speed? Could be interested in the Reginas.
...and you will get a MUCH better price for the Campag wheel if you keep the pair together. The cassettes are all 6 speed.
I thought I'd get a better price keeping a pair of wheels together, but I kind of wanna keep the 2 front wheels. The campag front wheel is radial and looks nice on the bike, the other will be kept as a spare in case of buckling.
I'm not that fussed about how much I would get for the back wheels and cassettes as the bike was not that pricey in the first place. -

Oh be nice!
I am cursed with short legs, hence why you might think that. Great clearances though..
