couldnt you take a link out of that chain?

90cm is hardly short miro.
On a serious note, I wouldn't says 90mm is too short, just the shortest you can go without compromising the bicycle handling (like says 60mm).
It's short for a track bike (not for a tarck bike).
90mm is short, despite what she tells you.

Aghhhh! I know, don't even go there. This bike seems to have had more little niggles and hiccups than any other I've built.
Seriously tho, yes I could... but the 28c tyre won't fit. The aim was to make a period correct '08/'09 hipster bike, so I have to have at least 25c front and 28c rear (preferably mis-matching).
The actual solution is to go and get a half link, but I just haven't got round to it.
Luckily, although the chain looks a bit slack, isn't slack enough to jump. Although I realise if it moves it might be.

just got this black reflective sticker sheet from wiggle, plan to put it on my black frame, rims and any bits n bobs i can put it on, bloody impressed by its magicleness, i can actually stand in one place in my room under my light and moove around and see it change before my very eyes, trippy stuff
I bought a cheap star-shaped cutter and stuck them on my (black) rims. It looked really good.

Bar reach must be a contributing factor here though?
very, the compact drop have a very short reach, useful for me as I needed a really short TT length.

alright then.
according to a precision measurement I just did, barefoot:
5 foot 9.3 inches = 1.76mIt's alright shorty.
My 'wingpsan' is 6ft 0.2 inches = 1.83m
just because you asked. -

and cross posting:
So I'm about to put derailleur gears on the Geekhouse.
Same deal as hugo- no braze on on underside of BB, no hole, and no guide on back.
Whats the quickest/cheapest/simplest way of solving this problem?
or should I just run it 1x9

God that brings back memories.... my first build, fixed then geared. I actually saw some guy riding the frame on my way to work.
I'd say drill a hole and mount one of these:
rather than this:
That's because I think it will be cheaper, easier to source, and look better on a GH. Not because I had any problems with mine.

1x9 with a chain device is good.
This will keep the chain on >

cool cool...
need to do a bit of thinking as my BB seems reluctant to leave the frame (at least its UT so I can always fit a campag chainset)1x9 is tempting.
Might send it to a Framebuilders and ask for some extra brazeons... -

Jerky, what about the q-factor? I mean is there's room for a double or triple crankset on that geekhouse?
-
• #43816
For some reason my phone autocorrect Henry to Jerky, huh.
-
• #43817
aye, plenty of room (1 or 2 spacers)

Because of a couple of thousands GBP ???
ftfy
(Just over £4k for Mavic vs. just over £600 for Campag)
-
• #43819
So final(ish) set up- Seat height needs a bit of more playing + maybe an upgrade.(its about a 1/2" drop saddle to pads, but fits so comfortably after a brief ride (tmw is a proper test- today was- does everything work?)
Spec List:
Vision integrated TriMax Bars and Levers
Lavoro color Bar tape.
Cane Creek Brake.
Deda Blackstream Carbon Aero Forks
SRAM Apex Converted Crankset + 53T Goldtec Chainring- which are amazing
Mavic Ellipse Wheelset.
might change the rear cog so that I can jam the wheel against the ST also. -

ftfy

I know, didn't want to exaggerate (this time).
If you buy 2nd hand, the difference could be less than GBP 2000, so, it's not thousands. In my own case, it would look quite wrong to show up with a pair of Mavics.
Dura Ace or Record hubs with nice alu rims and tubbies are just right. -
• #43821
@soperRIva: That looks really nice! You should consider a halflink and/or a black cog to finish the looks.
-
• #43822
Just that he could go for 90mm stem with 2cm longer (and taller) frame to get that seatpost a bit shorter and lose some spacers while doing it. Would that make it ride better? Dunno, but at least it would look somewhat more balanced.
I don't think any proper cycle fit would base your fap area on a 90mm stem.
Only in tarck money. -
• #43823
53T Goldtec Chainring
I haz one of those too!
Ventus bars are new for this year, saddle to pads is 15cm drop at the moment, not as much as I've used in the past and I might try it with fewer spacers, but as I did a short 58 on it on Saturday I'm probably not going to change anything until after I've finished the two 50s I have scheduled this year. -

Triangle = hipster. I don't know why, they bang on about it in the hipster thread all the time so it must be true.Tester in hipster shocker.
Spec:
Old track frame stripped and clear coated
Miche cranks
Cxp30s / on one (my first deep rims)
Brooks
After switching from some cut down Easton risers to flipped north road style bars I've switched back to some other risers. I liked the north roads, and with brown brooks tape it did look smart, but I underestimated the position an need a longer stem. So now it's got ubercheap risers with less rise, more sweepback and a lot more width.
Really liking it, aside from the cheap carbon post which refuses to adjust properly. It's either a choose of slipping forward or crushing my nuts.
Also the tyres are constantly going flat. Under advisement I'm goin to change the rim tape.
