what made you go for the drilled BB? will you not be riding in the rain?
-
• #42256
I think he said earlier that it was a fair-weather bike, so it prolly won't be seeing any rain.

seems a shame to have a bike sitting there unused for 6 months of the year

@sparky,jambon,spotter those frames and builds are stunners
@spotter I was tempted to buy that leader frame myself but got one of the unbranded riva/edwardes aluminium frames instead. I prefer the deaignnofnthe leader but don't think there's much between them #hopesanddreams
I've been unable to work on this bike for a while and now the seatpost is giving me hassle
I can't figure out whether the seat tube region above the top tube has been bent out o line with the region below it or whether the top has been stretched larger. 27.2 fits the top but doesn't get anywhere down into it. With 27.0 I have one seatpost that did fit and one that doesn't get down into it, both the same manuf and model. With the 27.0, when the clamp is tightened the slit seems to be pinched at the bottom. Odd. I'm going to try to file the diameter down on the seatpost
Anyone else had this problem?

NIce frame. What's the make?
-
• #42261
^Cheers. I have no idea, sadly. All I know is English, late 70's. It's light tubing with campag dropouts. The wishbone seatstays, pointed seatpost mast and lovely fillet brazing made me pretty sure it was worth buying. Came covered in one layer of crap black rattle can effort and a pink powdercoat which I spent ages removing

Comes up blue in pics but it's Cadburys' purple.Oddly i have the exat same paint job on a different frame

running 53x16 which is fine for W London though around notting hill can be a bit of a slog. Actually using a third crosstop lever as barend so I could keep the Moet corks in....shameless form over function, but I like it :)

First run out on my "new" bike today, indexing was a bit hit and miss, and the saddle clamp was not tight enough, but I sorted both of those in the sun by Brockwell Park in about 30 seconds.
It's fast, seems to want to keep going.
It's back on the turbo now for some more boring miles.

nice regalé team saddle.
what tape are you using?
been working my way through expensive white tape but looking for something that cleans up better than lizard-skin or san marco lorica. both rubbed through near hoods quite quickly. -

^.... fizik?
Also
Really like that.

Since a forumeanger secretly installed a bartape on my bike, the 3T is superbly comfortable on the 40 miles back home.
No idea on the longevity though, will do a couple century on it soon if my arse will permitted it.

looks like someone shrunk Senor Bear's handlebars.

*awaits "function over form on real tarck bikes" rebuttal.
Yeah its not winning me over either, that needs to be quite trick paint work to look like it belongs, at the moment it just looks too white and too plain.
