Sparkys Road Bike
?Fucck off! This is the reason my wife is upset when I freecycle anything through the forum - a bunch of posh ponces who are well off, but dress like homeless.

Lush frame, by the way.

At the speed that thing goes that sentence just sent a shiver up my spine.
Youre thinking about Hincapie's racemaster. Mine dosent have quite the same engine. -

You're missing exactly the same bits I'm missing (almost, I've got levers but no bars). Can't wait to fill in the gaps and have a finished beast. End of March self-imposed deadline...

Nice Raleigh, just keep it away from Edscoble

• #42234
He's already lusted after it, apparently he's wanted a raleigh royal for years

Spots, can we get a full picture of your stealth leader? I like it!

I just took this for you, and noticed that mark on my bar tape, thought it was a rip, just dust thankfully.
also i've balanced the colour very strangely in that photo, much to washed out. ho hum too late now. -

He might have track ends brazed onto it...

Hi,
My current project is very thightly based on the Performa Breakless of Francesco Bertelli (http://www.bertellibici.com/product.php?works_id=117).
This is my components/parts list at the moment:
Bertelli Raw Small frame (53cm)
Velocity deep-V rims on All-City "New Sheriff" 36 hubs
Nitto Pearl stem (still searching the right length for me, any hint how to compute-guess this is welcome)
Nitto RB-002 (here the design differs from the Bertelli one)
Nitto S-65 seatpost, or UNO equivalent if thight on budget
Brooks or Gilles Berthoud saddle (Honey or brown, not black)
Still searching for the crankset, but will be a 165mm, Campy, or Sugino, or else, 144BCD
Chainring undefined at the mo, Campy, Sugino Mighty maybe
Chain 1/8"
MKS Sylvan Track
Veloflex Record 20x700c
Maybe to begin, brake and brakelever, Tektro X4.1 silver.
frame finished steel wool and oil/waxAny suggestion most welcome
Thanks,

advice on a build.
Currently have a white raliegh frame similar to the one above.
Mine has silver cranks and a blue seat and blue and white old school bar tape. It also has silver deep v's on it. It to plain for me, I think it would look better with the lugs painted a blue to match the seat and tape? Or just a simple painted blue line around the ends of the lugs.

I need a seatpost without layback, a nicer mudguard and metallic blue fizik bar tape. -

2 of those things are true.

I want a black brooks saddle too. That bartape is such a horrible colour in real life, it's just the only stuff I had spare.

Sparky, your new bike is very, very lovely.
Jetski, yours too!

• #42245
Eh?
Ignore me. It's just envy :-)

I had the pleasure of helping Sparky build his bike, It looks fantastic in the photos, but they really don't do it justice, in the flesh its outrageous!
-
• #42247
Yeah, rub it in.
-
• #42248
some one needs to make a mudguard like that for 700c road wheels, they are all to wide, to short and to ugly
oh and lovely bike, well goes without saying, its awesome!

Nah, outlined lugs often look crap, well they do to me

And cheers for all your help. I owe you beers, for sure.
