Oddly i have the exat same paint job on a different frame
Could be frames made by a builder and badged up for shops, teams etc perhaps?
Cilo is Swiss, mines only Cromor not SLX tubing tho you lucky thing. Looks shocklingly similar, is your tt cable routing internal? Mine is but my gf has another Cilo(again with an almost identical paintjob) in aelle with external routing. -

looks like someone shrunk Senor Bear's handlebars.
He's still waiting for his Scatto bars to turn up.

what made you go for the drilled BB? will you not be riding in the rain?
It's just a nice little touch. Not really for weight saving.
I think he said earlier that it was a fair-weather bike, so it prolly won't be seeing any rain.
That's right, sir.
seems a shame to have a bike sitting there unused for 6 months of the year
Not really. I'm not going to be anal about it, but if it's raining or wet I'll take the tourer or fixed. No biggie.
Hi Sparky
Hows u ?
Seen ya on YACF :) Its YahudaMoon. Nice Bike. I want one :)See ya on YACF sometime
Yeah, I like that forum, but rarely post on there. Have accounts on all the bike forums to be honest. I spend too much time looking at bikes.
@sparky,jambon,spotter those frames and builds are stunners

It's the green tyres and a gold chain, Steff, which really top it off.

@spotter I was tempted to buy that leader frame myself but got one of the unbranded riva/edwardes aluminium frames instead. I prefer the deaignnofnthe leader but don't think there's much between them #hopesanddreams
TBH i only bought that frame because you don't see big track frames that often, your frame is probably just as good as a leader.
what size is that leader!?
61cm :)

The white 3T stuff is pretty hard wearing. Have had it on my spec since dunwich last year and it's all still in good shape.
No idea how it cleans up as I don't bother cleaning bar tape.

The chain isn't actually gold - not sure why the (crap) camera in my phone has rendered it thus. It's a very basic 7 quid KMC Z510HX - I don't really understand expensive track chains. Vittoria Paves only come in green, but I wuvs them.

I guess this is my first "real" build - I've only owned a cheap 'n nasty beater prior to this. I've been collecting various bits and pieces for this for a year now, so getting the frame back from Armourtex (RAL6003 Matt, £69.25) was the catalyst for a weekend's fun putting it all together.
I had intended to put together a porteur initially (hence VO bars, mafac cantis and levers, chainguard etc) but it ended up a bit of a mishmash - a little porteur, a little randonneur, and probably quite a few textbook errors.
Still to do:
install socket head bolts wherever possible, and apply ballbearings/tynan paste liberally. Set up derailleur & chainguard (which is botched on with old band-on derailleur fittings and l-brackets at the moment) and find some way of attaching my father's old satchel as a pannier without destroying either satchel or pannier:
Points of interest:
Sachs Huret Jubilee derailleur has a homemade return spring... waiting to see how well this fares. I built the wheels myself (ditto on how well they fare) and the leather grips are a little chunky as I put two layers of cloth tape underneath them, but hopefully they'll bed down a little with use. The alu bottle I got from a brand new swiss camping stove setup, but it seems to fit both bottle cage and aesthetic nicely. Please feel free to make your opinions on my efforts known loud and clear, preferably referencing the memez of the interwebz or your own vastly superior knowledge, based on infinitely more experience and wisdoms than mine.

Lose the tyres and it'll be straight in the porn thread.
Paselas or conti world tour would be ideal.Very very nice build indeed.

What's that chainguard, and where can I get one?!

And put a bolt/washer in the lamp mount on the fork. Or a lamp.

Maybe a TA/stronglight chainset one day when you're feeling flush. The one on there is lovely as well though.

Thanks for the advice on the tyres, I'll probably switch them for something gumwall when I've got my monies' worth out of these.

I've been looking for reasonably priced chrome lamps that aren't dynamo and have pokey leds... know of any? I've got a CREE torch+lockblock for now, and shall fill that lamp mount for the time being, just as soon as Screwfix send me a big bag o' bolts.

That is a stronglight chainset... I did consider TA, but I found that stronglight one for a good price. the current chainring (46t I think) is probably too small for the 12-24 block, though, so will probably stick a 52 on it.
Thanks for the advice!

It's a "Rochet" apparently, and I found it through several evenings' worth of hunting on ebay.fr... there are often a few available, but none I could find as nice as this one :)

The purists are calling for not just any Stronglight, even that nice 99 style job you have, but a Stronglight 49D or TA Cyclotouriste.
On the front light, you really want to surgically insert your existing Cree lamp unit into the shell of something more aesthetically fitting, so you get the best of both worlds.

Ah. I'll keep an eye out for both of these. I take it the 49D has a similar BCD to the Cyclotouriste? I like your thinking with the light cannibalism, I'll try that.

starting a new project
Have here a frameset that won a Portuguese tour (i think in 1980) "rodaplana" with a full dura-ace (only the pedals are shimano 600)i will set it with a full dura-ace (NOS) and some mavic tubular rims.
I don't about the saddle (any sugestions?)
I'm just waiting to hear how those rims hold up.
I predict a small stampede toward eBay if they display longevity.
