  • Well i love it...

  • Under load would that not seriously affect the bike's handling/perfromance?

  • This morning my Bianchi snapped in half

    Pics or it didnt happen.

  • Bearly man, how did it happen??

    On another note, I've just dropped the Brooklyn Gangsta off to a framebuilder in Deptford to get cantis mount done, after much discussion we were toying with the idea of getting integrated rack on the Gangsta just to carry pannier a la Rob English (the stem have been flipped the right way round... hater);

Cantilevers, great idea. Integrated rack, just no. That bike looks like its designed to be thrashed through tight singletrack

  • Under load would that not seriously affect the bike's handling/perfromance?

depend, with the integrated rack like that, I can achieve a lower centre of gravity (as the pannier mount is a lots lower) I won't be carrying a huge amount of load as I already got a perfectly good touring bike.

Gabe, remember Scott did build his to be a light touring bike.

Also it'll be lighter and possibly stiffer*.

*depend on his design, he's thinking about how to build a rack around it.

  • haven't been on this forum for years
hope you guys are all doing well

    heres my current project

  • Ed: deeper section rims, I know they are not super-lightweight, but I dunno, at least some CXP's or halo. At least make them match!
That Stem is fine the way it is but would have preferred black.
    Terrible cranks by the way

  • the bike is a bit of a Frankenstein already anyway, looks fine

Soon it'll have ceramic rims with low flange hubs, no deep section please, ridden with CXP14 (and H+Son), never again.

stem - probably an 80mm soon.

cranks - they work, a reputable company, that's all I care.

  • brooklyn with a rack looks.. wack

  • its already got a step through frame so why not a rack?

  • I see you're brakeless with brake levers again, Ed.

On another note, I've just dropped the Brooklyn Gangsta off to a framebuilder in Deptford to get cantis mount done...

  • although scotts looks like he could easily carry tons of gear no probs without the use of a rear rack, I reckon go for it ed, itd keep the load from the handlebars and on top of toptubes which looks top heavy

  • Gangstas are no longer cool. Sorry Ed.

Dov the Giant looks good. You just built the wheels?

  • that is lovley, the geometry looks like its a great fun to ride. and good news you finally found a good british track frame after all the waiting!! Ive finally finished my commuter and im contemplating a london to brighton ride, mabe.

It is indeed.. Gazelle pages even says: "possibly the pinnacle of steel framebuilding"..;) It is 731OS with noblex stainless steel rear and fork.. It is probably one of the earliest, since there is no internet recollection of them having curved forks, but it is indeed noblex seeing the dropouts.. Rear clearance is very thin.. It now sports Dura Ace 8sp with Rigida dp18 wheels, 18spokes front/24 rear.. I'm contemplating changing that to 8 speed record/chorus, with the biggest headbraker being then having to swap this wheelset for 32h Mavic CXP30 on Chorus hubs.. Also very nice, but I just like bladed spokes since I gain extra instant cool factor which makes me notably faster.. It rides a dream and is a perfect fit..

Cool "commuter" btw, looks like it really is fit for purpose..;) Timetrial that Brompton tiewearing folk! Nice paint, really nice wheelset, very nicely kitted out!

I like the Dolan very much too.. Next idea is to do something subtle with the Dolan branding.. Either translucent stickers or maybe etching the aluminium.. And shimmer down on the sheer amount of branding they normally get slapped with.. But I'll have to get potatoshopping on that idea..

  • Is the Giant '10 or '11 is there any difference. It looks really mean.Like it.

  • Gangstas are no longer cool. Sorry Ed.

fuck, might as well sell it.

Really really like it, well done.

  • The BMW just looks wrong to me. Strange owner.

    ftfy.

  • It's the fork innit? make it look like the headtube is stupidly steep and the bar far too forward.

nukey boy, haven't you got a porn topic to moderate?

  • Nukey boy? Don't you 'boy' me... boy.
And Porn thread has long gone to the dogs...
I just pass by to see if Squoocher is back.

  • You know, if you tell him that you like him, it might become something special.

Banned Squoocher for basically being homophobic. Basically one of those things I ignore and ignore, and then one day think, "What's the fucking deal, are you still a child? Is that it?" and then I just ban them. Ho hum.
