  • You know, if you tell him that you like him, it might become something special.

It was a whole new level with him. Pathologic trolling.

@Andy.w Yep, I'd seen it already. Kinda expected.

  • In term of design? appearance? or the notion of a 'track bike' having rack?

Sorry. Been out riding. All of the above, besides the track bike thing. The only thing "track" about the gansta* **, is its track ends.

*nice bike for riding about town though
**I have no business saying what is and what isn't "track" (that hipster would probably smoke me)

  • @Andy.w Yep, I'd seen it already. Kinda expected.

Well, what are you waiting for? take your crowning glory!

  • Bearly man, how did it happen??

    On another note, I've just dropped the Brooklyn Gangsta off to a framebuilder in Deptford to get cantis mount done, after much discussion we were toying with the idea of getting integrated rack on the Gangsta just to carry pannier a la Rob English (the stem have been flipped the right way round... hater);

    =

  • In term of design? appearance? or the notion of a 'track bike' having rack?

short chain stays and panniers are a ball pain.

  • Gangstas are no longer cool. Sorry Ed.

Dov the Giant looks good. You just built the wheels?

Yep, strung em together yesterday. Building with carbon rims was a first for me.

  • Is the Giant '10 or '11 is there any difference. It looks really mean.Like it.

2010 had a composite steerer, 2011 is back to alloy

  • ... after much discussion we were toying with the idea of getting integrated rack on the Gangsta just to carry pannier a la Rob English (

    I don't see a problem.

It seems like a bit of a waste of money, and I'm still not 100% what the point is when you've already got a bike, and a trailer for carrying lots of things. Plus I thought you said your commute was only 10mins now. How much stuff do you really need to take to work?

But if it fills a gap in your stable go for it.

Just make sure it looks like your photochop rather than that fugly English. Also I think it might be worth making a makeshift one first to test that it will work with the short stays.

I had to dremmel mine :(

    The bike looks really solid.

Stiff frame and front-end* + light wheels = win

    (*cockpit sounds naff)

  • This morning my Bianchi snapped in half, one in, one out I guess.

  • Generic Chinese 50mm carbon tubs. £77 each

  • ah the ebay jobbies thanks

  • Got the link to them Dov? I'll chuck that in the Orient Express thread if I may, and it would be great if you could update it with a review when you have ridden them for a while?

What hubs did you use? I thought they only came in 24 hole max. Was it that guy who sells those Ti frames on ebay? He sells 24 hole track hubs I think

  • Not current project yet but could be. Thinking of buying this. Not sure it is what it says it is though... badged as Ciocc designer 84, but not panto'd anywhere.

Also, how good is columbus slx?

    Any help much appreciated

  • slx is top of the line

  • slx was top of the line in the 1980s

    Ftfy.

Rims are 20h front / 24h rear. I used alloy track hubs

  • slx is top of the line

slx was top of the line in the 1980s

    Ftfy.

Unless you weighed over 90kg, then it was STX, if you wanted SLX in the first place.

Which was only 'top of the line' of that line of that specific purpose Columbus tubing for light people for a period of time, a long time ago.

    Should have just put +1

  • Still to go on:
    Campag record pista chainset
    Look keo classic pedals
    Deda Drittissimo
Syntace f99 stem (reduce that reach)
    chain
    better tyres

  • Needs Nitromors

  • Needs Nitromors

Ha, i did consider it for a millisecond, if not only for the smell!

  • Looking good Jambon. There looks to be some super fast track bikes about at the minute...

    must be summer!

  • Ha, i did consider it for a millisecond, if not only for the smell!

Atleast you've used all black components rather than trying to match up the blue and red bits

  • Ftfy.

I meant "is" in the past sense, obviously.
