  • Chris; woooooow! You surpassed that Concorde wish by many many miles.. That's going to be effin' lush!

cheers ruud, how goes? i'll also post a picture once its all done. im still waiting for my trip over the pond, people still throwing away decent steel over there??

  • Yes. Had disc brakes before but cable operated BB7s don't work with road shifters very well, despite the marketing blurb. I set up the bike with some EuroX cantis but they were fiddly beyond belief so picked up a pair of the ultimates after hearing nothing but praise for them. They are very good, ideal for cyclocross and very easy to get set up.

I went from canti's to V-brakes and was amazed at the increase in stopping power, then from V-brakes to a shimano hydro disc, and was a bit "meh", as overall power was around the same, but modulation was well behind.

Unless it was wet, when the disc was unquestionable in it's superiority.

  • Is the stem match the colour of the frame? if so, pure win.

  • Go really well with your 105 group do they monsieur Bang? :P

    Silly things.

    Pfff - I believe you'll find it's Ultegra Madame underscore. ;)

  • Matching stems are always anti to me. Unless the bike is black or chrome. A bit like coloured rims.

  • H, go for carbon fibre seatpost for extra comfort.

  • I just scored a set of wheels with dura ace 7600 hubs for £50 on ebay. Now I only need a frame, was considering buying an old french track frame, but the bb was missing, and I dont have a stem with french diameter here so I think I'll pass considering it wasnt that cheap. or does anybody know where to order a french threaded bb (JIS taper preferrably) in the EU that is reasonably priced?

  • You know how some bikes just look fast? That looks fast.

  • This morning my Bianchi snapped in half...

    what exactly hapenned?

  • looks good dov,
    guarantee replacement from bianchi surely??

  • what kind of Bianchi was it?

  • a** bia/nchi**

  • very nice. Rep etc

  • Bearly man, how did it happen??

    On another note, I've just dropped the Brooklyn Gangsta off to a framebuilder in Deptford to get cantis mount done, after much discussion we were toying with the idea of getting integrated rack on the Gangsta just to carry pannier a la Rob English (the stem have been flipped the right way round... hater);

  • Sorry Ed. That would be a catastrophic fail.

  • In term of design? appearance? or the notion of a 'track bike' having rack?
