cheers, its a gift to myself after being knocked off my bike 6 months ago by a transit van
moro_o blue could work actually, i didnt think of that as im a bit hesitant of colour matching, it can easily go horribly wrong!

bit geeky to put it all out on the floor airfix style
Wow, that is going to be awesome. I want to watch a vimeo stylee short depth of field video of you putting it together with a cinematic orchestra sound track. Can you sort that?

Yes. Had disc brakes before but cable operated BB7s don't work with road shifters very well, despite the marketing blurb. I set up the bike with some EuroX cantis but they were fiddly beyond belief so picked up a pair of the ultimates after hearing nothing but praise for them. They are very good, ideal for cyclocross and very easy to get set up.
Well if you want to shift them lemme' know, raced last season on Shorty 5's. Want to upgrade

I find canti's much less of a ball ache to set up than v's for some reason

You best shush your face mister. Just cause they weigh as my much as your new carbon monster and have never worked properly - that doesn't mean they arnt beautiful objects. Perhaps that may be their only use - but they do that bloody well.

^^ back with the cantis, the Avid Ultimates have the advantage of a built in adjuster, which saves you putting one somewhere else in the cable run.
But, thinking ahead, for similar money Paul Motolite Bmx jobs give you a huge pad height adjustment, so they could be used on a bike that might be fitted with different sized rims.

I'm jealous of it too. It's Donhou Cycles. You should see all the equipment on the other side of the room - everything you could want.

Is it really bad that I will use it as my 'daily' ride, for the 16mile commute?
-
• #41998
nope, its your bike do what you want with it. The important thing is that it gets used.

I'd much prefer to ride my Yates, but the angles are way too steep!
+1
Really nice. Dark blue cable outer perhaps?
